Downloading Problems

This is the problem that has been discussed in this thread.  When downloading you need to make sure you have completed this task.  If the size of the download does not agree with the received file it is incomplete.

That is why I have recommended use of a download manager that can resume interrupted transfers until they are completed.

Well, I seem to have better luck when downloading with IE7 instead of Firefox. While it still messes up every once in a while it doesn't do it nearly as much as Firefox does.

I cannot download any of the mods. The downloads just don't start. I don't receive error messages. Basically, I click on the "download" link, the page pretends it's loading (the Internet Explorer icon starts to spin) and then it quits. This just started happening. I CAN download items from STEX, just not mods. I tried downloading with Norton's shut off but it doesn't work.

I am using IE7, Verizon DSL, Windows XP home, latest version of Java. I'm in U.S. EST.

A review for people since my last post:

Large files seem to require a separate download manager of your choice that is capable of resuming an interrupted download.  Not everyone has this problem, however, so we consider this a work around.  I have suggested Flashget and the Firefox extension for it named Flashgot.  If you don't like these, then google for a download manager you like.

For people where the downloads don't start at all, check your security settings.  www.simtropolis.com must be on the white list in your firewall and must be allowed to give you cookies.  Apparently with IE7, you get no warnings, and they just don't go.  If you are on Vista, try running with Administrator permission.

I've already posted this in another forum, but I was directed here, so I'll re-post it.

None of the Modding Files will download for me

Lot file will download just fine

I click the download button and nothing happens, I even hear the click sound and nothing happens

I don't get an error message or anything.

I've tried it in both IE and FF

I've made sure that both are accepting cookies

I have also tried turning off my Firewall (Zone Alarm Pro) but that didn't work

    Popup Blocker is also deactivated

Both of you read the message up three from here.  I have recommended a work around, but no one has said that did not work.

There is some glitch, and we are trying to fix it, but it may simply be the combination of your line qualify, your ISP, and the very busy Internet.  The download controller packages guarantee to get the files.
