Can't upload regional maps

i got the config file and the greyscale map. and when i do the Ctrl-Alt-Shift-R thing he doesent do a thing? am i doing something wrong? do i miss an file i need? thx for ansering my qeustion

Several things can go wrong, as this is pretty delicate.

first, there is an off-by-one bug in the game that won't render a region if it is the first one in the sorted region list.  If this is the case, create a dummy folder in your regions named 0000000.

If the bit-map is not really 8-bit grey scale, you'll need to convert it.  One tool that will do this is the landscape designer.  It is in the Modds and Programs section.  Sorry, I don't have a link handy.  There is an option in the file menu to load and convert a map.

If your config.bmp does not match the grey scale map, nothing will happen except you may get a message about wrong size.

Of course you created the region in windows explorer and put both files in there, didn't you?

i putted both files in C:\Documents and Settings\Eigenaar\Mijn documenten\SimCity 4\regions\Region name that's the right place right?the map is i believ 8 Bit but i'm not sure i will check it out. and i do not get an wrong size message so the config is fine

okay the problem was it wasent 8bit's, thanks for your help
