SimCity.com Registration Woes

Ok, I've always had a problem with the SimCity.com registration with Maxis. Over the years I've had to register a lot of names/addresses to get access to the site stuff. Well, today was the worst and the part where I want to go "I give up"!

I used the send password on every username and email address I could think of, that I might have used in the past, et. all.

I got one back as confirmed, and when I tryed to log in, it said "this account has not yet been confirmed" - but it will never send me a second email to confirm that account!

So after trying everything again, I create yet ANOTHER account. I want to download all the landmarks and the transportation thingy (I can not remember if it's in Rush Hour which I have installed as well).

It says "enter serial code". OK - I do that.

Not Valid - already in use!  GRRRRRRRR! I know it's in use, I can not figure out the account that I had, and the one I can figure out isn't activated and you won't send me a second email, and you don't have an option to find an account by my serial number and have it send an email to the email address regiested to the serial number!!!!!!!

Try my Rush Hour serial code (and I know, I'm pretty sure, I've used that one on the site as well). Yup, I've used that one as well. "Already in use".

I know it's in use!

Arrrrrgh. Hurrrump.

Does anybody have a way to contact them or get the Landmarks and Props from the site. I am just so furious with Maxis/EA.

It didn't help that to install the game I needed to copy the CDs to my harddrive first because it didn't recognize the second install CD on my new computer. Or the probelms I had with BF2 and unsupported video cards.

(forgot to subscribe to topic) - as well, does any of the material on the two simtropolis.com disks need any of the material from those props. Just ordered the two disks, and I vaguely remember some of the sites needing those props. Arrrrrrgh Again.

There is some helpful information under the Forums, Simtropolis Community, New Member Information, on this site. 

I had similar problems to yours, and I had never received the confirmation e-mail the first time. Subsequent attempts to register that serial number with other e-mail addresses, other usernames, etc. made it even worse.

Luckily, a store here in Chicago had SC4 Deluxe at a super low price, less than 20 USD. I bought another copy, followed the instructions listed in the ST Forums section. I used all new username and password. I even went so far as to set up a new, never-before used Hotmail account with no spam filter settings and hurrah, I finally got the confirmation e-mail to activate the new serial number. It was quite a pain, but now I have the BAT and site access I always wanted, plus a second set of original CDs, in case the first ones ever get damaged.

To make matters worse, the official site has not been updated for more than a year. Even two.

We may be the most update SimCity site. So welcome to Simtropolis and enjoy the site.

I had the same problem, the only way I was able to get any help was going through the help section and actually emailing them my problem. They were able to help me out then. So you could try that, can't hurt

gmbalmer: I hate thinking of giving EA more money for an additional serial number, but I'll see if I can find a copy on discount somewhere (obviously I can not buy it second hand, nice way to kill the second hand used game market).

I've been lurking for a long time, but about 9 months ago some glitch happened with my video card and I couldn't nicely play SimCity anymore. The issue was a bad video card that 30 days ago finally went and melted my laptop. They sent me a full body replacement, so now I'm excited about getting my SimCity back into shape - and when I came back and saw the 2 CDs of Simtropolis stuff I couldn't resist! :-)

So, I'm excited about the material comming by mail (all selected for quality), and getting my first city going again. Just got saddened by Maxis/EA again.

Though, unfortunately, you won't be able to get the BAT update (lights for custom buildings) there. Maybe one day in the FAR Far far future.    Enjoy!

That does! I'm still going to contact the support system and see about access for the BAT update (?) but this has sataited my needs at the moment! Maxis/EA support I'm a comming for ya!

if need be canada i can get into the site, i still have my info and it works fine. if u need the landmarks i'm sure me and u can figure a way to get them to ya. i just downloaded one about 10 minutes ago as a dependencie for a building here. let me know
