The Sports and Entertainment District is a neighborhood located in New Marseilles 1st ward along the eastern/north bank of the Eloise River. The district serves as the main sporting and events section of the city. The First Rate Bank Arena, home to the New Marseilles Mussels basketball team and The Marveldome, home to the New Marseilles Cadman football team which plays regular season games at their arenas/stadiums. Also in the district is the New Marseilles Convention Center, Embassy Suites and Marriott hotels, Nautical Park, the Eloise Waterfront Mall, the Lafayette Industrial museum, along with some industrial businesses. All of which are located within the 39 acres district. It is accessible by Highway 518 and Columbia Avenue which runs through the center of the district.

The Maynard Country Club

The Maynard Country Club is the largest and most extensive country club in New Marseilles. Built in 1942 by Julius Maynard III, the country club serves as a recreational and leisure destination. It is located in the city's 4th ward and is south of Sentier Rd. to the west Maynard Blvd., to the north of Percyville Drive., and to the east of the Maynard Industrial Creek.

Sentier Trail

The Sentier (sin-tear) Trail, is a trailway and park formed from an old freight rail route which ran north-south from Lake Marseilles to The Eloisiana River. The railroad was completely removed from New Marseilles to make way for residential and commercial districts in the city's fourth ward. Today the park is symbolic of that once existing railroad and serves as a recreational and explorational park in the city's (Central-Eas) section. The park's main entrance is located at Sentier Rd.

Henry C. Waters Housing Projects

The Henry C. Waters Housing is a public housing project located in New Marseilles, Eloisiana. The housing project is located in the Maynard-Percyville neighborhood of the city in the 4th ward (Central-East) section of the city. The housing projects is considered to be the largest housing project in the 4th ward as well as the city and entire metropolitan area. The projects are named after a local New Marseilles businessman Henry C. Waters, who owned the land and the country Club which occupies the northern lot adjacent to the housing projects. The housing projects occupies the southern lot.

Its official address is 17481 Maynard Blvd. on 49 acres of land, north of I-210 (New Iberia Freeway) at the intersection of Percyville Drive. The federally subsidized project consists of 42 buildings and was completed in August 1944. It is operated by the Housing Authority of the New Marseilles. The project is predominantly inhabited by persons of African-American descent with a few new arrived immigrants from South America.

Crime at the housing project has seen on average 14 murders, 28 robberies, and 2 rapes in the past 3 years. The NMPD's 4th ward police command center keeps watch over the housing project.

Earl Kemp Long Intercontinental Airport (EKP: NMI) is an international airport in New Marseilles, Eloisiana United States, under class B airspace, serving the Greater New Marseilles metropolitan area. Located about 23 miles (37 km) north of Downtown New Marseilles, between Interstate 210 and Highway 168/Rt.118 with direct access to the Lake Marseilles Causeway. Earl Kemp Long Intercontinental Airport has scheduled flights to a large number of domestic and international destinations. The airport, originally named "New Marseilles Intercontinental Airport", was later renamed after Earl Kemp Long, a former state governor in Eloisiana.
In 2017, the airport served 40,696,189 passengers, making it the 48th busiest airport in the world, and the 15th busiest airport in the United States. NMI covers 74 acres of land and has nine runways and 8 heliports.

New Marseilles Intercontinental is the second largest passenger hub for United Airlines. The airport also serves as a focus city for Spirit Airlines. Under operations as United Express, Expressjet Airlines, Republic Airlines, Mesa Airlines and Skywest Airlines operate hub operations from NMI. It served as a hub for New Marseilles based Eloisiana International Airlines and commuter air carrier Metro Airlines, which was also based in the New Marseilles area and started its first flights when Intercontinental opened in 1969. The airport also serves as a hub for Atlas Air, which hosts a crew base, maintenance, and cargo logistics.
