	Motherstone has experienced intense population growth in recent years leading to a building boom. New towers go up every month, yet the demand for housing only continues to climb.

<p>
	First built by the Spanish, then occupied by the French, Dutch, and finally the English, the old coastal fort has fallen into disrepair. Most of the old structures were recycled as building materials for nearby farms. Today, only two prominent gun emplacements remain to tell the story of the imperial power once symbolized by cannons overlooking the bay. Today they overlook residential towers and the seafront promenade, and the only warships that ply these waters are those of the Royal Sisters Navy.

<p>
	The eastern half of the Little Sister is the fertile heartland of the archipelago. For centuries the heart of the island's religion, the city of Motherstone has grown from a ritual center to a thriving metropolis and the most populous city on the island chain. Legends tell of the mystical powers lurking hidden in the foothills, now disturbed by the expanding suburban sprawl. Their influence will guide the growth of the city and the islands, for better or for worse.

<p>
	The Little Sister is split by the Whytewater Run, a saltwater inland channel which cuts the island in half. Despite being over five miles wide at its widest, the depth never goes beyond twenty feet, making it impassible for most shipping, thus limiting its usefulness to smaller watercraft. Small villages dot the coastline until the run finally deepens to a navigable depth at the mouth of Cranburrow.

<p>
	Sextant Beach - A small city on the southern coast of the Little Sister, home to a small industrial center and shipping port. Originally founded as a haven of pirates in 1715, the industrial revolution turned the town into a manufacturing center. The island's best-selling soft drink, Fizzy Mayo, the world's only can of carbonated mayonnaise, is produced here.

<p>
	A small commercial center and a park on the edge of the city, where the bigger buildings give way to suburbs covering the foothills like a carpet. A small plaque near the tennis court reveals the history of this place: "On this spot in 1909, the first automobile fatality in the Twin Sisters took place. A local doctor, named Whycliffe , lost control of his Ford Model T and crashed in a copse of trees located some distance off the road. It is apparent he had been drinking heavily while attending the birth of triplets at a distant lumber camp; The delivery is said to have gone as planned, thanks only to a lumberjack with midwife training. Whycliffe lies buried in the Old Resurrection Burying Ground in central Motherstone."
