<p>
	The Appomattox Court House was the location where General Lee signed the surrender of his Army of Northern Virginia during the American Civil War.   I created this image ages ago for a <abbr title="City Journal">CJ</abbr> entry and I thought it would be a perfect fit for this competition (hopefully it can still be entered).  I was inspired by<strong> <a href="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/82314303/Photos/Misc%20Photos/Competition%20pics/RealisticContest/CourtHouse.jpg" rel="external nofollow">this photograph</a></strong> while making this recreation, which was taken around the time of the surrender.
</p>

<p>
	Here are a couple other photos to give you an idea of what the real place looks like today:<br /><strong><a href="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/82314303/Photos/Misc%20Photos/Competition%20pics/RealisticContest/appomattox2wmc.jpg" rel="external nofollow">Photo 1</a></strong><br /><strong><a href="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/82314303/Photos/Misc%20Photos/Competition%20pics/RealisticContest/Comp-44_720.jpg" rel="external nofollow">Photo 2</a></strong>
</p>

<p>
	When I entered this through the submission page it deleted all my info, so hopefully it works the second time around.  Thanks <img alt=":)" data-emoticon="" height="15" src="https://community.simtropolis.com/assets/emoticons/default_1.gif" srcset="https://community.simtropolis.com/assets/emoticons/default_1@2x.gif 2x" title=":)" width="15" /></p>

	A view of <strong>Berlin</strong>, featuring the <strong><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fernsehturm_Berlin" rel="external nofollow">Fernsehturm</a></strong> and the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berlin_Cathedral" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Berliner Dom</strong>.</a>

<p>
	Quite an interesting challenge that gave me some ideas. Not always easy to build landmarks and respecting their actual location.

	Here is an image I found on the internet and decided to recreate it. There are some differences but I tried what I could you'll note the freight train and the style of the bridge, the curve in the stream and the type of vegetation trees, bushes, shrubs, even the bare lodge poles at the top left of the field. Obviously the angle is different but I tried to recreate the location seen below. and per rule 6 no photo editing.
