Appomattox Court House

The Appomattox Court House was the location where General Lee signed the surrender of his Army of Northern Virginia during the American Civil War. I created this image ages ago for a CJ entry and I thought it would be a perfect fit for this competition (hopefully it can still be entered). I was inspired by this photograph while making this recreation, which was taken around the time of the surrender.

Realistic recreation of Pisa's Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles) - home of the world famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Additional notes:

Every last building and object was carefully analyzed to find the most suitable SC4 replacement.

All of the textures were carefully created from scratch to match those of the actual plaza itself.

A view of Berlin, featuring the Fernsehturm and the Berliner Dom.

Quite an interesting challenge that gave me some ideas. Not always easy to build landmarks and respecting their actual location.

Meteora, Greece

Realistic recreation of the Holy Monastery of St. Nicholas in Meteora, Greece along with some of the surrounding scenery. Wanting to feel closer to heaven, the locals built their monasteries high in the sky, perched precariously on sheer rock cliffs - truly a sight to behold.

Field with a View

Here is an image I found on the internet and decided to recreate it. There are some differences but I tried what I could you'll note the freight train and the style of the bridge, the curve in the stream and the type of vegetation trees, bushes, shrubs, even the bare lodge poles at the top left of the field. Obviously the angle is different but I tried to recreate the location seen below. and per rule 6 no photo editing.

Stunning Victoria Falls. Located on the Zambezi River on the Zimbabwe/Zambia border, it's the world's largest waterfall as well as one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

Antarctic Peninsula

4 elements are combined with SC4's icy blue water to depict a polar scene, 1) a water level mod that raised the water to 1500m, 2) a cloudy sky background, 3) an Antarctic terrain mod, and 4) the SC4 Easter Egg that adds snow caps to higher elevations on Dec 25.

The Antarctic seems to be the most peaceful place left on Earth. There are no major industries or defense operations, just some penguins and scientists.
