Hi guys,
I'm becoming pretty desperate right now. As you can see on the picture, my city has been suffering from some unemployment. Also, my HSR network next to the highway had no riders.
I first thougth the unemployment was due to the long commute times (they were 50 minutes or so at that time). So I decided to add a new piece to my HSR network, this time right through the heart of my city. This reduced commute time to less than ten minutes, but still my HSR network had no riders.
Also, the unemployment was still there! So I thought, maybe it wasn't because of the long commute times, but simply because there was no work, so I zoned a few commercial (with an HSR station). But the unemployment didn't change, and neither did the popularity of my HSR network).
Fyi, my city first had a population of 180,000, till I built the new HSR network. I had to demolish a few buildings, so my city now has a population of 130,000, and 50,000 commercial jobs. Also, I have a neighbouring city (which is connected by HSR, highway, rail and subway) with 33,000 industrial jobs (mostly high-tech and manufacturing).
So my two main questions are:
- Why in hell refuse my sims to take the HSR?
- What is causing these permanent unemployment rates?
I also included my a regional transportview, maybe that could serve to be some extra information. My region consist of 6 big tiles.
Thanks in advance, like I said, I'm becoming pretty desperate!
