  1. Revisiting Prop Pox and Prop Theory

There's a way to plop residential buildings without suffering from abandonment. It involves zoning an area and after residential buildings have established, you plop down the desired residential building. @simmaster07 Impressive work, especially with tacking the infamous proppox. Heh, your username really fits your amazing creations here
  2. Show us Your Oddities!

Ah yes, low density commercial, just what I need :3
  3. Desktop.. Everyone has one of these!

    Yes it is Frankfurt.
  4. Desktop.. Everyone has one of these!

@MisterBlueStar4 Nice icon collection Here's how my desktop looks like on my laptop. Currently I'm figuring out, bit by bit, how gmax works (and 3d modelling in general). About the background, well the colour pallet with the deep blue's is near perfect for me and the cityscape of Frankfurt am Main looks stellar.
  5. A Horse with No Name by America. One great travelling song, especially for long road trips.

Well practice makes perfect. Building a realistic looking airport is always a challenge to everyone, from the massive list of dependencies to single tile pieces. The airport I built in the previous submission took lots of preparation and hours of research. The result does speak for itself. @Tyberius06Ah yes moar rails! Also what a huge difference between the before and after pictures!
  7. Show Us What You're Working On

A new update, currently I'm working on the capital city of the region, which means I'll go all in with tall buildings. As usual I do challenge myself with a meagre usable terrain to work with. The sheer amount of hills and mountains west of the city and lots of water around the south and east of this part of the region is a tough one to build around. To make it a bit harder for myself, I decided to use RHW to its full potential (more collectors lanes and healthy quantity of T interchanges) and this also means double stacked highways, especially handy in the western parts of this city. In much simpler words, it's going to be pain to cheek to build here, but when I pull this one off this might very well be my most distinct city to date. Alright, I've talked for some extensive time, let's show y'all some pictures. In this image I'm experimenting with low and midrise buildings to see how I'm going to fill the outer parts of the capital's core. Overall design will be more East Coast US themed. Here's the region so far. Some parts of the region will be changed quite a bit to fit the massive international airport and its infrastructure. Region view:

@Fantozzi, Wasn't the Lamborghini LM002 technically their first SUV? Volvo S60 R. All fluids are cramped on one side, because Volvo!
  9. Wooo my GTX 770 died today! I always knew MSI made some of the most reliable graphics cards on the market!:bunny:

If the card lasted more than the 5 years my last desktop did, you already have me beat!

  10. I don't know what feels wore, loneliness or laziness.

  11. Everything is solved with the Dell Latitude! It now runs (Albeit vanilla SC4) very smoothly and this silly "thermal" throttling at 59°C is gone! Man this machine is a beast once its potential energy is converted into HEAT :bunny:

@Simmer2They do look pretty sweet! Are you aiming for a modular lots using these models or is this too early to ask?
  13. Purchased a second hand Latitude E6540 with the Radeon HD 8790M, now I have to figure out how to run the game on dedicated graphics instead of the Intel Graphics thingy. So far I'm not having much luck.

  14. Show Us What You're Working On

I used the black fences which you can find here in Paeng's SPAM addon pack. After plopping the fences I MMP'd the area to make the different grass textures seem seamless with the terrain.

The airport is finished*, so I decided to create this detailed mosaic of my creation, hope y'all enjoy it. The airport offers two terminals for larger regional commuter airplanes and an aircraft stand to the rather small ATR's. This airport has a single, controlled runway and one maintenance dock. *The airport lacks a fuel depot, so that's on my to do list.

  17. Show Us What You're Working On

Just finished my first airport. I would like to thank @kelistmac for his advice! An overview of the airport location. It's far from finished, but hey doesn't look bad for a first take.
  18. Show Us What You're Working On

@rsc204 Those are some smooth looking streets! Is this development also compatible with IRM? If so then I'm really impressed how much modifications this game can handle. The diagonal neighbourhood, that I had shown some time ago, is all finished to some presentable degree. Today I started playing around with industrial lots and tried to make the commercial buildings fit in this type of zoning. Also spent some time playing around with my current assortment of mmp. This is the region so far. A few months have passed by and I still haven't finished my two recently started tiles, because I can't seem to make a decently looking airport. So my question is: Where can I find tutorials on how to make realistic regional airports, because most of tutorials that I had found had broken image links, which made it quite difficult for a novice to follow the guides.
  19. A-Z Cars

@Fantozzi I can image how this car got its name. Michael: George give me a name! George: uh, how about SGC 003? Michael: Nah, that's too short, give me something longer and unique. George: Sure! Fiat 126 "gotta go fast" edition.
  20. A-Z Cars

Volvo XC70 Cross Country, this particular one is a Swedish import with a 2,4L 4 banger diesel with all the options, 120k km and a hefty €12k price tag for a 14(ish) year old car. This Swedish tank sits in my top 5 dream cars list.
  21. Show us your Rush Hour / Traffic Jams

Left the simulation to run wild while I was doing other stuff. Well lo and behold, a gridlock.
  22. A-Z Cars

@Zelgadis The owner probably owns this keychain. https://motoloot.com/products/mr-fancy-sew-faunseh-keychain Opel Zafira 2015, nothing significant but as a sidenote I wrote a paragraph about this car in a report about car design.

  24. Show us your farm land!

Got some farmlands to show: Tulip fields and a museum. Grass fields, lots of open land. That's what I tried to achieve here compared to the densely packed farms I used to make.
  25. Show Us What You're Working On

@EvansRE4; Your downtown looks packed and filled with all types of buildings, looks stellar and I'm keen to see how you're going to fill the rest of the city! Started experimenting with growable diagonal buildings to add variety. From the looks I need to place some parks and parking lots to fill the empty spots, but so far everything is going to plan.
