  1. Fossil player do another annual update....

  2. Update 45c: 2018 Holiday Travel Report

first I have to say this entry basically a repost of the Update 46a from SC4 Devotion since it show similar situation but in different time so expect some pictures are similar with from that update. If you wonder yes this is the annual update I make about the holiday homecoming traffics in Karasem which I made annually since 2012 (although I skipped 2013 and 2015). Update 45c: 2018 Holiday Traffic Report Introduction: As it's 1 days before Idul Fitri in Karasem, many people go to their hometown to celebrate ied with their big families. most of the travelers come from major cities like Meriah, Cibebek and Kota Baru toward hometown. as for 2017 data from both Cibebek Metropolitan Area and Meriah Metropolitan Area, about 32% of travelers go to Central Cikulon Province (Capital Purwasari), 27% to South Cikulon Province (Capital: Tanjung Bambu), 20% go to Kasemetapang Province and other places in Northern Islands 18% toward various places in North Cikulon Province (Capital: Meriah) and the rest go to other provinces. The tradition also occurs in other places in Karasem but mostly in Western Karasem which is much more populated than eastern part. Map of western Karasem in case of wondering. This year prediction, the peak of the hometown bound traffic happened in Day-3 (12/6 Tuesday) as for today (Day-1) the traffic has decreased but not significant enough to compare it with the normal non holiday season intercity traffics in Karasem. For the anticipation beforehand, National government from Ministry of Transportation and Ministry of Public Works launch additional services such as extra train trip from Major cities stations, ticket discounts, advanced traffic management planning, until the the launching of the functional-only-serviceless-highways. Big Trucks except for fuel, food trucks as well as the minor trucks are banned from the main road and Expressways in 1 week (10/6-17/6) during the eid holiday season in order to avoid additional congestion in roads. First report came from the Air Transportation. As seen in Kota Meriah International Airport (KMIA) the passenger traffic increased by 19% compared to yesterday despite its only 1 day before the eid. According to several passengers, they decide to come back closer to eid using air transportation because of their workplaces tight schedule where they didn't get additional holiday for eid. Some other also prefers to travel in the last day before eid to avoid the peak back in their hometown From Kota Meriah International Airport Next, we go to the Cibebek Raya Station to check the rail transport from the main station of Cibebek Metropolitan Area. Passengers come with their family few hours before the trains departing, some of them waiting in the front of station as well as the intercity train platform. Today its predicted to be 21,728 passengers to depart from this station to their hometown, lower than yesterday which is 23,493. Earlier this morning, Karasem President Widjojo Raharjo alongside with officials from Minister of Transportation visited the station to monitor the situation as well as greet the people who are going back to their hometown. This year is the first year that full double track between Meriah to Kota Baru operating during holiday season which hope to increase the number of trips of intercity trains as well as reducing the number of delays on the trip. As for station itself, platform allocation for the Intercity Trains increased by disabling the Kota Baru-Cibebek Line Feeder during the Eid season. However, Cibebek Railway stated that the commuter/local train service will remains normally operates only with reduced feeder line. Situation in Cibebek Raya Station Now the report of road transportation which dominated by the personal motor vehicles like Sedans and SUVs. First toward the Report from Sumber Rejo Toll Gate of Meriah-Kota Baru Expressway in Kemayoran, North Cikulon Province. Congestion reported about 4km from the toll gate in Meriah direction as well as 3km in Kota Baru direction, which is better than yesterday up to 10km queue length. in order to relief the congestion, toll road operators, add aditional gate instead of 12 normally available into 15 in single direction as well as the "pay before toll gate" services. Currently its been advised that the travelers from Cibebek-Kota Baru area who want to go toward Purwasari to use the eastern coast route which is less used than west coast route of Cikulon in order to relief the traffic in Sumberrejo and later Kedawung in Malang Bawah. Meriah-Kota Baru Expressway itself is rather special than other highway/expressway around Karasem where they been used heavily in both direction in every holiday season because its connect 2 major metropolitan area in Karasem which is Kota Baru-Cibebek Metropolitan Area with Meriah Metropolitan Area. Traffic in the Meriah-Kota Baru Expressway on Sumber Rejo IC about 2km west of Sumber Rejo Toll Gate. Meanwhile from the non-expressway Karasem National Main Route 1, traffic reported in moderate condition. however when entering Kemayoran City center, heavy traffic reported. Situation in Karasem National Route 1 in Sumberrejo, Kemayoran. Meanwhile from the East Coast Route (Karasem National Route 5) of Cikulon in Trimurjo, south of Kemayoran situation reported with light but rather dense traffic for south bound direction. Travelers using this route as an alternative to the western coast route (Karasem National Route 1) to go to Purwasari or other areas in eastern coast of Cikulon Situation in Eastern Cikulon Coast Route Next we go to Kedawung area which become the worst nuisance on last 2 year holiday season traffic where last year happened to be the worst happened. Kedawung is a town in south of Malang Bawah City, North Cikulon which currently the end of West Cikulon Expressway (currently Meriah-Malang Bawah Expressway) where its used mostly from every traveler from Meriah or even Cibebek who want to travel toward Central and South Cikulon Province. Currently the traffic jam at 6km long toward Malang Bawah JCT, intersection of the partially finished Malang Bawah-Purwasari Expressway which is much better than during the peak this year (14km) or the worst last year (23km). The operation of Malang Bawah-Purwasari Expressway and functionally-opened unfinished section of this expressway help to distribute the traffic toward Purwasari. Main problem of this traffic is the meeting with the national route traffic which is rather congested, the existence of "pasar tumpah" in Kedawung town center as well as the railway crossing nearby the exit. Currently local officers manage the traffic by diverting the traffic from Central Cikulon toward Malang Bawah into the Kedawung Bypass in the west of the city although this solution just temporary until the completion of Malang Bawah-Purwasari Expressway in late 2019. Traffic Jam in the Kedawung exit of Meriah-Malang Bawah Expressway. Next are the reports from the recently finished part of Malang Bawah-Purwasari Expressway. The situation much better than last year where the usable unfinished part of this expressway opened for functional only. However since this expressway isn't completely finished yet, people still need to use non-expressway main road after the operating part or choose to use unfinished part of expressway which is rather low in safety and other road aspects including its very dusty condition and bumpy roads. The operating part of the Malang Bawah-Purwasari expressway in Pegajuran District, Malang Bawah Regency. Another opened section of the expressway near the border of Malang Bawah and Malang Atas Regency. Next report is from the Cikopo Area in North Cibebek Regency. Cikopo area previously known as the traffic jam area on every year holiday season for the travelers heading toward Tanjung Pojok port to cross to Ketapang Province. With the completion of Cikopo-Tanjung Pojok section of Cibebek-Tanjung Pojok Expressway in April 2015, the traffic not a major problem in this area except for the toll gate pay in this area. Queue of Cikopo Toll Gate featuring National Route 1 (as Cibebek-Tanjung Pojok Main Road) Last, we go to the Tanjung Pojok Port where the travelers toward Ketapang crossing from Cibebek Province. Tanjung pojok port operate additional dock for the car ferry which total currently 6 docks operating in this ferry crossing. as for yesterday the peak, the port crossed about 19,340 cars and buses with total passanger is 170,289 people crossed adding the motorcycle and pedestrian users. situation in Tanjung Pojok Ferry Port Thats all for today hope you all enjoy it! And Happy Eid Al Fitri for those who celebrate it!

  5. So here is an idea what just come into my mind few days ago. with the time being, I feel like SimCity 4 almost feels like to be turned into a sandbox games (mostly done by my experience of playing this game from 2008). Although I still use the "city grows" and such thing in SimCity 4, but its feel different with how I played SimCity 4 back in 2008-2009 days which is to grow the city from zero and pretty much use all of its functions. This Journal which I just start is mutually independent from my other CJs (I still do my other CJ anyway). It will basically show the progress of a city grow from zero with how it might be intended to be by the original Game, I still uses mods as usual (East Asian Plugins) but I will limit myself if possible not to use any cheat or any related trick (such as using mods). I might also uses some eye candy stuffs (such as slopewall etc) but try not to use any plopable commercial or residential). Also please note that in future post (and this post) I'll post some raw ingame image (might also include the user interface) so forgive me if somebody don't like it. Anyway here is the setting for this CJ, I reused the map from my 2009 stuff, Starfishland which I renamed it into something much better. Anyway here is the location where I would like to start: I'll start the city and named it "Wakaba" (means "Young Leaves" in Japanese, suggesting a symbol of a new start). As a start in SimCity 4, I'll just make a several grid block of residential, commercial and industrial as well as the powerplant next to industrial The community has turned into a small town Economy looks fine for the start (I plan the trees in god mode since I forgot to do it at start lol) Anyway that might be for the start, let me know how you think about it if I should continue this or no.. Thanks for reading...
  6. Los Angeles

As I mention in sc4d... this really a nice recreation of LA ingame!
  7. Nakahara 25: "Non Directional Art" (Mitsuya, Akashima) (quiet an intersting thing that the song above samples similar sound as one of sc4 mayor mode music) As a mosaic of the Akashima city, the city grow since early 17th century when Suzumoto Clan rule the Hasaki Domain of the area. The city however suffer devastation of earthquakes and tsunami multiple times including the latest one in 2014. Akashima grow into major metropolitan area of Nakahara with rather non-planned chaotic pattern but managed to emerge as a well developed city in end of 20th century... Shiraigawa (白井川町), Naka ward(中区) one of the densely developed area in central Akashima near the main downtown core of the city. As for the public transit access to the area, Akashima Subway Mitsuya Line built in 1983 to improve connectivity of the area. The highway network of the city follow the pattern of the city development going through densely build area today.. Akashima Expressway Yumesaki route (赤島高速5号夢崎線) serves the main road access toward the southern Yumesaki area of Akashima alongside with recently built Akashima Bay Bridge toward Arakawa city. Akashima Expressway Yumesaki Route passing through densely build area in Mitsuya (美津谷町), Akashima Mizuguchi Station (水口駅), one of the Station of Yumesaki Line (夢崎線) is crowded in the morning as usual day in Akashima. Mizuguchi Station located in Naka Ward, Akashima and it serves the area in northwest part of Yumesaki area of Akashima Parallel toward the Akashima expressway Yumesaki Route, Yumesaki Line serves the Yumesaki Ward, the southern part of Akashima city located in Yumesaki peninsula. Mitsuya (美津谷町) is a district located just in the west of Akashima Downtown core. One of the famous part of Mitsuya is the shopping area nearby Mitsuya Station where it can be interpreted as "Akiba of Akashima" which mainly sold electronic stuff as well as many of the pop culture on Nakahara. Part of Mitsuya is home to many offices and company around the city.as an example western part of Mitsuya host wall to wall offices building rows. Mitsuya Station (美津谷駅), as the main station of the area, awkwardly located just below the Akashima Expressway Yumesaki Route serves the Tokaido Main Line alongside with the Akiya Line, and the Inner Loop Line of Akashima. A lot of people rushes for the transfer either toward the bus or the nearby Akashima Subway Mitsuya Line. Akashima Expressway Chuo Line (赤島高速3号中央線) passing through southern part of Mitsuya basically marking the border of Mitsuya and Shiraigawa in the south. Into the night, the district is never sleep as the district host many entertainment area where many office worker in Akashima may spend night here before going home to hang with the co-worker or just to forgot the stress they got earlier during the worktime. Cross of Akashima Expressway Yumesaki Route with Chuo Route at night... Thank you for viewing hope you enjoy it! Replies: @korver @kelistmac @scotttbarry : Thank you for the comments! Glad you like it! @kschmidt @Linoa06 : Thank you! yeah I take note of the addition for Temples and Shrines.. Thanks for the suggestion anyeay!

Obviously you really done a great job on the coastal area! TBH Its rather hard to make a realistic coastal area including port area but this one example that you managed to create a great one!
  11. Basically this update just to throw the whole pictures from update 24 which havent posted yet beforehand which has been roting in my flickr folder for like 2 months.... So I dont really have any story or major description as in my previous updates.... Nakahara 24.8: "ままならない" (Nakazono-cho, Akashima) Images from Nakazono-cho, located north of Imaizumi-cho and northwest of Nojiri-cho: Picture from Narisawa-cho (north of Nakazono, east of Shin-Akashima): Pictures from Okaizumi-cho (east of Nakazono-cho) Overview of Nojiri and Nakazono: This should covered the area showed in update 10, 17, 23 and 24: Thanks for viewing this... next update will cover different city as people might already bored with this theme... 12. 3rd part of Update 24 Nakahara. yes I know its really a long time from the last update but whatever... that being said, this update was supposedly posted in late August instead of September... Nakahara 24.5: "Summer Fever" (Miyashiro-cho, Akashima) Summer, anything in mind about this season? for people in Akashima, Nakahara it might associate with hot but rather wet weather, beach, and maybe for students: Summer Holiday! Residential area in Miyashiro-cho (宮代町), Nishi Ward, Akashima. Yes but, summer almost ending here, fall/autumn will heading toward the city any moment in September as this city experienced the season change faster than most of Nakahara. But yet the summer atmosphere still can be seen in this city. Eastern part of Miyashiro-cho "It's very hot today. I think we should turn on the AC." "No, this is just fine" "Cmon, I cant concentrate if its hot like this..." Miyashiro-cho central, North of Miyashiro Station "Alright then, beside its your idea to do the summer homework here" "Well umm yes but doing it near the end of Summer holiday definitely not a good idea anyway" Near Miyashiro Station "I think its better to buy some cold drink." "yeah thats a good idea, buy me some sports drink" "and you please continue to figure how to solve this question while I buy it" wherever it is duh... but its near Miyashiro Station Anyway lets just left those students who working on their homework and heading to other topic.. Hmm maybe that guy in front of station might have something better? Miyashiro Station "I think I spend too much in this summer. Going to sea cost me a lot duh.. and those stuffs... well atleast it pretty close with the salary payment day. OH WAIT, THE TRAIN ALREADY THERE, I NEED TO HURRY!" Kogame Line e231 west of Miyashiro Station "ah I made it... if I don't made it I'll late in this meeting... wait is this train AC working? why its really hot here?" (apparently the train AC cant handle the number of passenger and the temperature at that time) Miyashiro-cho lets go to other person, it seems that guy a little bit in hurry lol.... still in same train, there is some interesting guy, lets see what he thinking of. Miyashiro Station (seeing some stuff from his smartphone) "hmm it seems there will be a firework event near Arakawa River this weekend, I think I will go there and bring somebody.." "wait... this weekend night, I have some appointment with my old friend.. uh oh " e231 Series Kogame Line in Nishimiyashiro-cho west from Miyashiro-cho Anyway lets go somewhere else... seems everyone in this train is busy.... Miyashiro JCT, intersection between Akashima Expressway Chuo Route with Saki Route. Meanwhile in a park and even nearby the Miyashiro Shrine, some children can be seen hunting insect and bringing with them long-handled insect nets and clear plastic boxes with the insects they catch (mostly beetles, grasshoppers, cicadas, crickets, katydids). Seems they have fun in this summer time although the fact is the number of insects in big cities like Akashima continuously decreasing with the expansion of human habitation. Miyashiro-Jinja (MIyashiro Shrine) Summer do have something special for people in Akashima whether they are elder, adult, teen or children. especially in daytime like this... Nishimiyashiro-cho Miyashiro-cho overview Night time, it might be something different going on around the neighborhood... Miyashiro Station at night. Northern Miyashiro-cho at night Miyashiro-cho at night Akashima Expressway Miyashiro exit at night Miyashiro-cho overview at night Thats all for today, hope you enjoyed it... there is one more entry from Update 24 series so stay tune..
