Simcity gets Blessing of Series Creator Will Wright

SimCity may have got off to a rocky start this week, but series creator Will Wright has been playing it, and he’s very pleased with the results. Wright co-founded SimCity developer Maxis in 1987, but left the studio in April 2009 to pursue other projects. Speaking with NowGamer, Wright gave his impressions of the new game.

It explains alot. " Visually Great"-  A gme can be visually great (and SimCity is) but that's not the most important thing for a video game, just look at Minecraft. " It's not about making your city big, it's about making it not poor" That could sum up this week for SimCity: " It's not about making your launch( or possibly your in city gameplay) good, it's about making it not poor". Good look on making it not poor EA/Maxis. I hope you succeed because some features (global market) are actually pretty good.

Well this is a nice read, and lots of fuzzy-good feelings and all.

As much as I respect the esteemed Mr. Wright, news of his blessing being given upon his own legendary title, crafted by the studio he founded and helmed by his own protégé -- comes as little to no surprise.

No, but hopefully it makes people realise that there are many positives in this game, even if they are overshadowed by the negatives.

The word "senile" comes to mind, but maybe he didn't play anything since Simcity? if so yeah, that would be amazing to him.
