Realistic Highway Mod Released for Cities XL!

A member from XL Nation has released a highway mod for Cities XL that is very similiar to RHW Mod for Simcity 4. This mod features acceleration lanes (yes, slip lanes) and as wide as 5 lanes! With this mod, you can create interchanges, and make a more realistic highway system. Available in 2 textures (dark and light asphalt) More details along with download link over at xlnation.net.

It looks hideous, but that's Cities XL's fault, not the creators of the mod. They did a good job improving the look of the highways in the game but they're still pretty bad. :P

The problem with approaching this before seems to have been that no networks in CXL can be one-way only, notice that all networks are two-way.

You can upgrade to make one way though. But youre right there is no seperate one way road. Its such an improvement to the insanely stupid space requiremens for the premade interchanges and dumb roundabout additions but still not very realistic

I find that the title of this News Item is a bit confusing. The actual title of this mod, as shown on the XL Nation page, is "Realistic Highway Mod".

RealHighway (AKA Real Highway Mod, RHW) is a NAM Team product for SimCity 4 Deluxe/Rush Hour. The NAM Team is in no way involved in this project, or any other CXL modding projects.

Guys you don't know what you are saying. negating thing that you didn't even try or see is immature and misleading. You can build anything you want using this mod. me myself have costructed many kinds of interchanges at any size. there is one lane highway which is used as an integration way in this mod, and the curves are just fine.

Let's see CXL had only been out about 8 months when they first started working on the NEXL mod (which adds more transit options to the game). It's a pretty substantial mod for a new game. What was SimCity 4 like about a year after release? No big mods, that's for sure.

Point is, CXL may take off sometime. It's not a half bad game, but the reason SC4 wins is out is because it has more custom content.
