    Ocean Quigley Interview at IncGamers

You’ve talked to us before about the city size and performance trade-off and people have asked why there is not an option if you have a more powerful PC to have larger cities. Is it something you may look at in the future or is it set in stone?

That is just a performance decision. Given that was the performance constraint we decided to work under, we built a larger region environment and a bunch of the multiply to work with 2km cities. At some point in the future, especially with mainstream computers become more capable, we could certainly make the city sizes larger, We need to keep in mind that Sim City is a mainstream game, it’s not a game that is only going to run on high-end gaming PCs, it has to run in your Dad’s PC as well.

We’ll eventually get around to expanding the city size but I can’t make any promises as to when.

Hey, the tag at the end of this article said the release is March 8th. I though it was March 5th. Did they change it?

SimCity's released on March 8th in Europe. The 5th is for North America / Canada. The article should really state this clearly.

I'm a little disappointed by a comment he made. He says that this game will be easier to add additional content when previous SimCity's it was next to impossible. REALLY? What about SC4? How much of the game I play is additional content? I wonder if he was talking about addition game engine content or something, because, sorry Ocean, take a one minute look around SC4Devotion and Simtropolis, to mention only two sites, that have a TON of amazing custom content...and the crazy stuff the NAM Team has done to this game and tell me it is next to impossible to add content to it!

tell you what Ocean...I'll eventually get around to buying the game when you do that...as well as ditch the required internet connection, make the cities adjacent to each other, let me set my own regional transportation networks and sculpt my own terrains.

Most likely it will be DLC.

C'mon Ocean, ever heard of adjustable performance settings?

    Indeed.
