It's stupid how they think Fate of the World and all the "non-games" are for 7 year olds.

Oh, and listen to what they say! Don't play games where you use immense amount of planning and strategy, play games where zombies are taking over the world! Because it's less scary!

Typical Fox... they can allways blame it on the "liberal agenda"... When even a Game, for children, who are about bulding and se a city grown is "part of the liberal agenda" then you know things are bad..

Maybe when FOX news are starting to do REAL NEWS then they can came back, and blaim the liberals.. But this is just stupid..

Could FoxNews get any dumber? If I was one of their producers, I'd have to sit in the shower the whole night after my shift, just to somehow wash the shame off of me.

I'm almost certain that the same parents who would criticize SimCity would simulteanously allow their children to play games like Call of Duty, Halo, and Fallout.

I'm not exactly sure how learning that there are multiple angles to everything and developing moral and logical reasoning at an early age is a bad thing. We should be all about teaching children how the world works and how it can be made better, even if by a little bit. There is nothing more powerful than a self-sustained, independent mind.

This just gives conspiracy theorists increased merit to their ideals that the media and corporations are in cahoots with the government and want to make sure we only know what they want us to know; not what would possibly _should_ know.

Something about laying pipelines... that was SC4, not SCS. SCS let you take your city in a number of different directions, and I'm not clear on how a 7 year old would get any entertainment value out of SCS anyway. I think it is important we are aware of these Op-Ed videos, but that one was certainly a total waste of time. They do not have their facts straight, and even more silly in my opinion... who the hell *CARES* about SCS? If people are buying 'Sim City Box', I'm reasonably sure they are buying it for SimCity 4. Which, by the by, I'm happy to report it is *still* on the shelf at my local Wal-Mart for $20.

But that these morons could only scare up "Fate of the world" (I know nothing about that one) and SCS to make their point is just sad.

Wow... I cant beleive that actually happened. If fox was any farther right... i dunno they might implode. So parents buy games with killing with absolutely no intellectual value because what if our children actually begin to think... oh right thinking is liberal. Thats what I got from the report. What a slap in the face to them, they couldnt possibley be any more closed minded.

Either way they made so many unproven assumptions it was so unproffesional, now that the initial anger is gone I just have to laugh.

This disgusts me FAUX news now, Sim City is a great game that teaches EVERYONE the lessons of city building and community development, not a "Liberal agenda" Idiots, maybe they should all make "pipelines". Then to compare nuclear power as an option in SCS and SC4 is also radical, these games don't scare kids or have bad meanings to them. If they really wanted an argument they should talk about the new Cartoon's kids watch now-a-days because those really teach kids bad stuff. FAUX

We have no proof that this is current. For all I know, this clip could've been created in 2007. Also, whoever posted this on Simtropolis is just trying to stir up trouble. It's like starting up a console vs. PC thread that eventually approaches and passes Godwin's Law. Expect someone to use the phrase "Glorious PC gaming master race" and be dead serious.

LivingInThePast: true, but you have to take notice of the fact that the game as uploaded the 6th of September of this year...which was yesterday. Not everyone on this site was probably capable of seeing this video when it aired, and if it was uploaded just yesterday and considering the quality, I doubt it is from 2007.
