Saraton is the cosmopolitan capital of valaria. It is situated at the conflux of the Valaria, Alexis and embrace rivers.

Seanden Island


Seanden Island is situated on the conflux of the Valaria and Alexis rivers. It is the site of Fort seanden. A fort build by the Dutch to protect the city and the adjacent rivers. It was used as a prison till 1920. Currently it is a museum. From the ramparts of the fort a great panorama can be seen.

The rest of the island hold the Delco palace and the Delco botanical gardens. The palace used to be the residence of the Delco or viceroy of Valaria. Currently it is the home of the president of Valaria.

Centennial wheel


The 130 meter tall Centennial wheel situated on the banks of the River Valaria Central Saraton.

It is the tallest Ferris wheel in Melonosia, and the most popular paid tourist attraction in the Valaria, visited by over 2.5 million people annually.


Construction was completed in 2005 to celebrate the 200 year birth day of the state of Valaria.


The wheel provides a great view of the Valaria river and its banks and the borough of Valariana and Balbo.

Valarian especially Saratonians have a great passion for sports. One of the famous sporting institutions can be found on the banks of the Embrace river; Embrace Tennis park home of the yearly grand slam tennis tournament  the Valarian open.


The tournament was held for the first time in 1905 and was last contested on grass in 1970. Since 1971, the tournament has been held on hard courts Embrace Tennis park. Will Matslander is the only person to have won the tournament on both grass and hard courts.




The park consist of the 16.350 seat Matslander stadium, the parks center court. There are plans to increase its capacity to 21.000 seats. Most prominent feature is the Ace tower. Furthermore there are count no 1- 6, each with a capacity of 2.800 spectators each. In addition there court number 7-18.


Most notably court no. 3 is noted as the graveyard of champions as many former champions fell to ignominious defeats.


The tournament takes place over two weeks in late June and early July, culminating with the ladies' and gentlemen's singles final, scheduled respectively for the second Saturday and Sunday. Each year, five major events are contested, as well as four junior events and four invitational events.


One of the many historical landmarks in the city is the General Ayala memorial. General Ayala (1760-1836) is a national hero leading the Valarian forces to victory over the forces of General Dolza in the Valarian war of independence 1800-1805.

Situated on the southerbank of the Valaria river near the conflux of the Embrace river in what is now Ayala park, construction began in 1927.The construction was competed in 1936, 100 years after the death of the general.

The desig of the building is based on the pantheon in Rome. A statue of the independence hero made of bronze is inside. On the outside of the memorial the following text is carved; Even though the war is won, it feels like we have lost it.

Famous words the general had spoken on the day the war was won. Reflecting back on the high toll the Valarians had to pay for there freedom.

Saraton is the second populous city  in Valaria, and the center of the Saraton metropolitan area. A leading city, Saraton exerts a powerful influence over global commerce, finance, media, culture, art, fashion, research, education, and entertainment.

Located on a the conflux of the Valariariver, Embrace River the Alexis River and the Seventh sea it is a good natural harbor.

Saraton  was founded as a commercial trading post 1525. The settlement was called New Zaandam until 1602 when  the name was changed in honor of the Valari king Sara.

It remained a relative small trading and fishing post till it was designate the capital of the viceroyalty of Valaria. Valaria was one of the 7 viceroyalties in the great continental divide of 1680. The city became the center of trade for the region, especially due to, abolishment of slavery and freedom of religion the liberal view of the viceroy. Saraton also became the base for the colonial guard a fast military force to defend the viceroyalties.


Increasing tension between the 7 viceroyalties and the motherland lead to the Melonosian war of independence or the 11 year war  from 1783 - 1794. The United provinces or Melonosia was proclaimed in 1795 under the rule of general Dolza. In 5 years he turned the unity in to a empire with him as the head of state holding absolute power. Slavery was reinstated , freedom of religion was abandoned and high taxes were imposed. Valaria was the first province to liberate itself from the tyranny of General Dolza under the leadership of General Ayala.

. Independence was proclaimed in 1805. First president was J.P. Sorin. Soon after, Valaria was invaded by the colonial powers of the Naboo. Saraton was occupied in 1810. The invaders were expelled in 1811.


After these decades of struggle and war  years of peace and harmony lay ahead. The liberal views and freedom of religion and the abolishment of slavery attracted people from all over the continent to Valaria. Especially the original inhabitants of the continent who were driven away from the other states. In 1840 the second Naboo invasion was crushed in the battle of Amoras.

Saraton continued to be the center of commerce, finance, culture, sports, fashion, education and logistics for the continent. A green and lively city with a fast waterfront, state of the art medical facilities, worldclass educational instituuts and lots of museums.
