Nuclear Testingsite Shingjing 1958

On 7 july 1958 the nuclear testingsite of Shingjing opened. It was the first nuclear testingside in the People's Republic of Sinjin. Because of the nuclear warfare that started between the Sovjet-Union and the US, Sinjin decided to start with nuclear warfare too. The first nuclear bomb, the SGX-120, was completed in 1962, 4 years after the opening of the nuclear testingsite. The bomb was located at the testingside of Shingjing, and would be used to defend the city. Other bombs that came later would be used as defending or offensive bombs. In the 1960 and 1970 a lot of other testingsites were opened too and the nuclear weapon arsenal of Sinjin grew fastly.
