The silent mountain

Now we are out of the city and all the tourists and the artificialities, to the harmony of nature.

This train tunnel passes just under the mountain and the town.

Some farm homes living in harmony with nature.

Small towns are spreaded all along the coasts.
Those towns are little independent from the rest of the city, they are mostly self porwered, by either solar power and wind power.

Because of an accident that happened few years ago, the people of the town decided to ask the central city infrastructre ministry to build a bridge over the rails that passes just next to the town.
This rail is the fastest connection between the town and the rest of the towns and the city, and the rest of the region.
The rest are some unpaved roads and mountains paths.

Now goign up to the mountain:

This amazing garden used to be a part of an older city in this area that have been destroyed from wars.

The towns' recylcing center, it recycle all the organic wastes and helps to purify the water.

This is an old mosque down the mountain.
Mosques are usually close to where people live, because muslims pray 5 times a day.
The reason that it is there, that it is some of the remainings of the ancient city.

A larger view of the town:

I think that you did notice that small street.
There is a tunnel that goes threw the mountain to the town, to make the transportation easier and faster.
You can either use your car, or use an eletric tram, kinda of a clined elevator, an upgrade of an ancient escaping stairway that go threw the mountain, passing by some mines.

Because of the small open spaces in the mountain, there are some parkings under ground too, and down the moutain.

Some ancient arabian cities (like Kairouan, Jerusalam, and others...), had a whole system of tunnels almost under each house and building, that leads outside the city walls or to safe areas.

Off the record:
Some tunnels in high tension areas are still used today, like in Palastine, where Palastinians used them to transport food and supplies to the cities under siege by the occupier.
& in some other case for escape of the attacks.
Intill recently, most tunels are discovered and bombarded.

I wish if simcity 4 had the option of the street views like in City life (by Montecristo).

More ruins...

Beautiful work with the plant plopping. It looks beautiful.

The railroads in the 4th picture might need some work though, that's a little on the steep side :P

Indeed, very interesting city you have set up. I like the walkability of it, and that terrain is amazing. I hope it is a peaceful, tranquil place to live now for the inhabitants.

Your Tunisian BATs look great in this. Have you thought about making any of the great Tunisian historic sites? That'd be awesome!

Good idea :D
