I was just wondering, does the public transport actually get used at all? the residential areas spread a long way from the stations?

I would suggest promoting more mixed-use development in your city (mixing COM and RES together), as that can help reduce commute time. Also, I think placing some employment (commercial) areas beside and near your transit stops can help more in increasing transit ridership.

The subway does get used and so does the elevated rail and tram networks. Thanks Andresta for your advice and I will use it.
