    -= Mogisrej From Above =-
This is my third city of Cities: Skylines...

The Mogisrej Island is a hidden tropical paradise that was first settled by European adventurers. The first district is the Fort Nieuw Amsterdam ditrict, where the European themed buildings are located. As this is the first district, currently it's the biggest and the most dense district housing high density buildings and important government buildings as well as landmarks.

As the city grows exponentially with the commercials and forestry industries, more people come and they settle more inward into the island, so that they can produce timbers more easily. They were the second wave of cims migration and settled at the area that's now called Beatrixweg with its forestry industry Klappercompagnie. These districts act as an suburban area, with its strong community feel where everyone goes to the same place and work at the same place.

The third migration wave is the cims from surrounding islands. As the city of Mogisrej thriving, it attracts more and more people to work at the forestry industries. These new migrants settle up in the mountain area and they bring their housing style with them making it a non-European district. These people are uneducated and they work long hours at the forestry industries. ..

-I will keep updating my city and hopefully it'll be a nice one

I am trying to build a tongue in cheek theme based on 19th C Britain: slums, belching factories, workhouses and orphanages.

Never modded anything before in my life, but I am enjoying it.

Just gonna post pics of my trials and tribulations in here.

A recent city I created, one the few rare cities I have built with zero traffic congestion, it's a rather long city, so the pictures show different segments. Using 25 tile mod. - Baltimore ( by name only, not intended to represent the terrain or planning of the US city )

    WELCOME TO ASHMAYU ISLAND CITY
I'm working on a new city map. It's dramatic yet very very workable as the topography of the land is flat on some areas.
I am planning to make it a nice paradise!

    • Haven't messed with minecraft (yet) nor SC2013... I always thought vertical zoning would be great addition to the game.
Hehe - they are a cool series.  Not long after getting another copy of City, I got a copy of Underground on a recommendation.
    • I think SC2000 was the final hook, it enabled more vertical construction at least in terra-forming.
Those look like an excellent series of books by David MacAulay to inspire engineers.   I used to lug home giant books full of glossy pictures of futuristic architecture from the library.
The aspect of constructing architecture hasn't been directly part of the SC games, but in SC 2013 the Cities of Tomorrow expansion includes multifunctional mega-towers that the player adds levels to, so that gives the game a bit of a vertical playing field as well as horizontal, but nothing like Minecraft.
I only recently discovered a bit more depth to the history of design tracking Leonardo Da Vinci back to an engineer of Roman antiquity named Vitruvius who wrote 'De architectura'.
A good example of the mega-structure concept is Diego Del Llano's H1: Hybrid Building
    • Ditto what coolsim1 said.... Where can we find those stores on here? (Nike, Converse, and Hilfiger)
    • Architecture was one of my first big interests... wound up going to TTU long ago for a year to study it, but for various reasons didn't stick with it.   Also David MacAulay's book City was one of my favourite books growing up.... I actually purchased another copy of it a few years ago as I'd loaned it out and it was never returned.
Edit: It was actually during my days at TTU that I picked up a copy of SC2000, and the obsession began!

    • Thanks.  It seems SimCity has been part of my computer-using time forever.   Maybe the same for you, it connected to my interest in architecture and city design back to childhood.
