i have found that as i grow and replace my clinic sith hospitals my health doesn't increase at all in fact it tends to make health go backwards no extra pollution no extra traffic and no dirty industry. whats going on here? if i have large med centers do i need small clinics?

How old is your city. Generally I don't notice an increase in age until my sims have been there a looooong time! Until my city is decades old.

Dont bother with clinics. Personally, I find they reach their capacity too quickly. Also, your health will go up ever so slowly. After 25 years you only have 25k? At 25 years i had 500k. Anyway, give it time, but also make sure ALL areas are covered. If you have uncovered areas, the new residents will never grow in health. Thanks for the question!

There is no difference between clinics and hospitals, other than the area coverage, the capacity, and the cost to run them. Hospitals cover larger area's, and have higher capacities, but cost less per patient, and square meter of coverage. All you need to do is cover the residential zones with health care, which facility you use doesn't matter. Make sure you fund them so you have the patient capcity to cover the amount of patients.

It's a little off topic I know, but it just depends of your style of play. I like to take time to build and plan everything. The city I'm working on right now is over 400 years old and I just reached 50k 2.gif

  • thanks everyone Bradleybaggins, i play without cheats/mods partly cause i only recntly just got online partly cause i like the satisfaction of building my city overtime and seeing it grow develop. Tungston, the only thing i have found differnet from my experince is the rate of health improvement clinics are faster mostly cause they have smaller areas of effect will need the time to do an experiment for this. I fund everything as much as it needs then 10 -20 pecent excess to account for growth in pop/demand Dr Neitchskrimfrauwnmoya I like to plan everythings once i get most of my infrastructure in place. the funny thing is my cites tend to look like they aren't planned at all. the result. Slower growth allows you to make your city beautiful 4.gif

I have noticed the same thing i will have two residential areas, both made at the same time, one with a clinic and one with a hospital, funding up  to where they need to with room to grow and ambulance out to the zones edges, the clinics grow grenn alot faster and the hospitals dont... It seems they need clicnis, i mean do you go to the hospital or a clinic when your ill?<br />but going about this aproach when a city reaches 100k I need hospitals around the zones and 5 or more clinics side by side to keep them green and happy...you would think i could just do with hospitals

i'm sure this post is years after your posts but i agree it does depend on your style. i just like rampant growth, and i use planned development always. it just seemed like you were taking an unnecessary amount of time. to me at least. but i don't think there is any difference in the rate of growth of health, but then again i never use clinics, so i couldn't honestly compare them.
