Tree-related props and flora including trees, stumps, slash piles, logs. This file also adds some flora items to your Mayor Mode flora menu, which will allow you to plop a few types of trees that grow over time in the game. It also adds ploppable logs, such as found along rivers and beaches of Northwestern North America (and probably many other places too.)
Some of the ploppable trees may require the following files to be in your plugins (to avoid brown boxes)
Cycledogg Tree Mod
(The actual files from the Cycledogg Tree Mod that need to be in your plugins are: CPT_No8_TreeModelsPArtOne.dat and CPT_No9_TreeModelsPartTwo.dat)
This pack will be a dependency for upcoming BSC timber farm series lots, and for future god-mode tree controllers, and for possible future street tree mods.
Tariel Trees Evergreens
I like all SC4 trees, seasonal or not. But I noticed over the years that I preferred the more varied, often lighter green, spring version of many seasonal trees (those that have a spring season). Even the beautiful Girafe evergreen trees (where would we be without them ?) are a bit too dark for me. In fact, all summer versions of all trees look the same, too dark green for me. So I decided to get me some spring-only version of the seasonals I liked and was likely to use in my lotting or relotting.
Here they are : CP trees, JENX (Xannepan) Trees (among which his uniquely beautiful Willow Tree), and PK (Porkissimo) Trees. I separated the more numerous CP trees in three folders, so you can pick and choose.
• TL-CPv1 & v2 Evergreens 1
• TL-CPv1 & v2 Evergreens 2
• TL-CPv1 & v2 Evergreens 3
• TL-JENX Evergreens
• TL-PK2 Evergreens
• TL-Trees Evergreen TestLots : they will show up in your Parks menu ; they are TEST lots, to show what the trees look like in YOUR game (to check if you do have the deps, for instance…) ; then you can take them out so as not to clutter your menu. (Remember to let the game run for about a year, at speed to see them show up).
The trees are optional. Meaning they can stay in your plugins folder if you wish : as long as they don’t load last, they won’t change anything. If loading last, they will change into springy evergreens any such seasonals used on any lot. I repeat : If you want to get them, they must load last.
If you want to use them for your own lots-relots, they are in the Lot Editor under their original names. Remember you still must stack them (yes, that fun part…). The JENX “xmas” prop is for the fourth season so that they don't disappear in what should have been spring. For the PK trees, and JENX Willow tree, just put another summer prop on top of the winter one, it should do the trick.
The originals’ properties haven’t been changed.
Many thanks to my technical gurus, Rsc204, Kosc and Dreadnought. And especially Rivit, who lighted my SC4world and is always generously ready to help. And the guys and gals on the forums (Twalsh, Tyberius06, Matias93, Fantozzi, Catty-cb, Corinamarie…). We need help when we begin peeking under the hood of SC4. That the community is always there for us noobies is very comforting.
YOU WILL NEED :
BSC MegaProps CP Vol.1
BSC MegaProps CP Vol.2
JENX Tree Props vol.1 BSC [BTW : there is a testlot in that one ; just chuck it !]
Enjoy, I hope !
4 trees which change with seasons. As they got a concrete base at the bottom, they are especially designed for street use. They're also night-enlighted, so don't place them across the lot limit in the LotEditor (they would lose their nitelight in the game).
Don't worry: there will be no tree on your lot before the next season swap: it's normal.
In the LE, stack together at the same place:
[PK-tree01-fall] + [PK-tree01-winter] + [PK-tree01-summer] + [Pk-leaves-street]
[PK-tree02-fall] + [PK-tree02-winter] + [PK-tree02-summer] + [Pk-leaves-street]
and so on...
This plugin provides you with a tree controller, that allows you to plant large forests consisting of trees mostly created by girafe. On lower altitudes, leafy trees are being planted, and the higher you go, eventually mixed forests, conifer forests, shrubby plains and meadows with flowers will appear instead. Aside from the conifer trees, all plants will be seasonal. As already announced, I've been aiming at creating a tree controller that
basically does what its name says: it plants trees and only trees, keeps filesize expansion moderate, allows for seamless transitions between god-mode planted flora and MMP's and uses high-quality HD flora.
NEW with version 1.03:
I've added two extra versions for the evergreen tree controller: one making all trees look like fall trees, and one for winter trees. You can swap at any time between these three tree controllers (fall, summer, and winter) by replacing their file (for instance, replacing the summer file with the fall file will make all trees planted with the CETC look like fall trees). All trees that have already been planted will automatically adapt their in-game appearance.
The purpose of doing this: I've noticed, at least in my region, that when playing for a long time (in-game), sometimes the cycle for the seasonally changing trees gets postponed by one month. In some cases, I've had fall trees growing right next to summer trees. I haven't been able to find out how to solve this issue, so this is at least a partial solution. Other than that, I thought that this may be an interesting alternative to seasonally changing trees: Just make them look always the same until you replace a file in your Plugins folder. After all, we do only need seasonally changing trees for good looks and screenshots.
For users of versions below 1.03: Please uninstall the old files prior to installing the new ones. You do not need to remove God-Mode planted trees beforehand.
Please make sure to carefully read the installation instructions (see Readme) before just trying it, regarding which files that come with this plugin you need actually if you want to install the CETC properly.
Important note: Generally, tree controllers are not intercompatible and an attempt to install multiple tree controllers may cause unexpected behaviour of the game. In the worst case, you may never be able to load any city in a particular region again until you have corrected all mistakes. Unless you know exactly what you do, stick to these two rules when dealing with tree controllers:
Never install more than 1 tree controller at a time!
When switching to another tree controller, always remove any and all trees planted with your previous tree controller before uninstalling your old tree controller!
Available languages: Basically, the CETC adapts to any language, but the Readmes are available in English and German.
Discussion, Feedback, Bug reports: Please post them in this thread:

Seasonal Flora Patch: If you don’t have a terrain mod or if your terrain mod doesn‘t support seasonally changing flora, you need this patch to make sure that the seasonal version of the CETC works properly (the evergreen version will work without the Seasonal Flora Patch).
Note: To my knowledge, the following terrain mods do not require installation of the Seasonal Flora Patch (please feel free to tell me if otherwise):
Berner Oberland (Gobias) Sudden Valley (Gobias) Appalachian Terrain Mod (Lowkee)
Girafe, CP for creating the trees used by the CETC in the first place – without their work, this tree controller would have never existed
