So i have a bunch assets and stuff and scrolling through and finding what i want is very uhhhh annoying and takes some time. I was wondering if someone had made a mod where the menu was expanded or a search menu has been created. I tried looking up some key words to see if there was anythign but i havent seen anything. I did come across DAMN but idk what that really is and looks very complicated and stuff

As far as I know DAMN is the only menu expander mod out there. There are some things called Menu Management Lots which hide menu items until that one is plopped (or some such). I've only learned of them recently and haven't used them.

Do wait for other answers tho as I'm not an expert of this part of the game. *;)

I have been used the DAMN for a while, it's due to I'm installing the well-built but complex KOSC Superparking sets. The author is offering the DAMN files for them to manage their complex nature. Installing DAMN isn't difficult but the managing it is difficult. You need to download the DAMN and the Manager. After that, make sure your game shortcut's "Start in:" field is filled to your installation directory, default (assuming 64-bit OS) to C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4. Then, open DAMN Manager then add, modify or remove some directions and respective lots. After that, click on Apply changes (cmiiw) and click Extra>Reindex (cmiiw*). This process is quite complex if I have large amount of plugins. Make sure to organize as soon as possible but not too soon (for instance in the first day of gameplay).

*Correct me if I wrong.

finding what i want

I have a big landmark menu, with a lot of stuff. So I made sub categories. OldC$$ buildings, new C$$ buildings, oldI$$ buildings, newI$$buildings, amusement, hotels,  ... You can make it as you want.

With IliveReader I put them all together. OldC$$buildings -8001/-8500 new C$$buildings-8501/-9000, and so on.

With a marker between the sub menus it is 'easy' finding.

It takes some time, but for me it is worth it.

Btw, should you wish to share the dividers feel free to do so. Be sure to include my Planning_Colors.dat since that has the bold colored textures in it along with your tweaked menu order of my original blocks plus the new ones you've made. (I've said many times my stuff is free to share wherever just that I'd like to be mentioned for my part of it when you pass on the files.)

Edit: And you might want to rename each of my original lots taking out the lot editor added hex number and replace it with the word Parks (or Parks Menu).

I feel free, but didn't think about it. Next week I have a short holiday and I will dive in to: uploading stuff. It is a good idea!

Is there a way to level/raise water into land surface without it turning to sand where trees won't grow? Thanks.

For what I’m trying to accomplish, as far as I can tell, I should be using either SC4 Tool or the iLive Reader. I would like to be able to edit certain parameters of buildings in the game. For example, changing the radius for police, fire, education, etc. I would also like to change how much power is generated from power plants, how much water is generated by water pumps and towers, etc. Basically do everything (hopefully) that can be done in SimCity 3000 here.
I’ve tried both SC4 Tool and iLive Reader but can’t seem to find the buildings I’m searching for. I’m truly starting from scratch and need some assistance on either of these programs. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Trying to learn to mod, and I've set myself a project: to automatically populate police stations with different names. Eventually to be extended to other service buildings, along the lines of transit rename mods. So for starters, they would simply get numbers: Police Station #1, Police Station #2, etc. Fancier schemes later (maybe).
I've been using ModTools and ILSpy and I simply can't find where the name is stored. Perhaps I'm biting off too much for a noob.
