All cities in my region are not keeping the education sliders. You can max the slider out and watch it drop to 0. Tried deleting all schools and re-plopping. Didn't work. Under the education tab I slide the slider to 100% and as soon as I close the tab it drops to 0. So no matter where I try to set the education slider you can watch the slider go back to 0.

Anybody have an idea as to why?

This is known as the Phantom Slider Bug.

I believe it happens when adding anything which has it's own funding slider which is different from others already plopped of the same type. You were close on the solution for bulldozing all of the bugged ones, however you then need to save the city while they are gone. Then re-open the city tile and let it fun for several months to let the game clear out its memory of the old ranges and percentages. After that you should be able to plop them and have the sliders act normally.

Thanks @CorinaMarie I will do that in a little bit! I was hoping it was something easy and simple!

Please let me know if that works or not. We can Google up SC4 Phantom Slider Bug for more details if needed.

You might also want to ID the culprit and take steps to prevent the same bug happening again.

Have you modified or otherwise installed an override for the lots causing the issue?

To prevent this you must never install such overrides until you've removed all saved instances of the lots first. If you've accidentally done this, you must restore the original lot files (or remove the override), then ensure the lots themselves are removed before restoring the modified files. If you can't do this, then likely you are doomed, since trying to bulldoze a lot in such a scenario will result in a swift CTD.

No I haven't installed an override. I can duplicate the problem even in a sandbox city with nothing in plugins except for the NAM(36). I don't have a clue as to why it does this, other than If I removed all plopped education, save and exit then open the city up and re-plop said lots and presto everything is fine.
