Launcher crash, Origin SimCity 2013

I just got a new PC and installed SimCity through the Origin app. It shows that the game installed fine, but the game itself won't launch. The game logo hangs out in the taskbar, but the task manager shows that the game is "not responding". No actual game window ever shows up either. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling SimCity and Origin itself, as well as doing a system restore PC with the new Creators update of Windows 10.

I tried running the game in compatibility mode as Window 7, 8 and XP, but none of them load either also on admin mode The game did work on my old laptop DellXPS l502x with Windows 10.I try This that appear in the other post with  the same problem. https://answers.ea.com/t5/SimCity-2013/SimCity-won-t-launch-on-new-PC-Windows-10/td-p/6236698

Doesn´t work I was in contacct to EA Support. They try the same things, installs, uninstall, compatibility modes, and the origin in game enable and disable. I has this PC from october an I can not play my favorite Game.I sell my old laptop 2011 because lags SimCity and I buy a ryzen 5/1060/16 Gb ram I ask help on SimCity nation Facebook group. same tries, nothing work. The EA support refer me to this fórum.I read on Nvidia fórums and on reedit similar problems. but their fixes are the same as this.

HELP PLEASE!

That was the Quote that I write on November on the EA forums https://answers.ea.com/t5/SimCity-2013/SimCity-2013-launcher-dosnt-show-and-crash-only-in-the-windows/td-p/6449322

And I still can’t play , I try so many solutions and any results. Please if somebody can help me in this forum. With new ideas.

Unfortunately I'm only familiar with SimCity 4 and I do know that Windows Update KB3086255 blocks SC4 from starting. It's possible this affects SC 2013 too. Any game that uses the old DRM check for the CD to be in the drive will be affected by this.

Here's hoping some peeps familar with 2013 pop in with a better answer.

No, the game is too new for this to be an issue. Actually SC 2013 is only available through Origin for digital download. Even if you bought it in a shop, even if the disc had an installer, it still requires Origin to validate the install.

Honestly, looking at everything you've done, I would conclude there is an incompatibility somewhere with your machine and SimCity. Clearly the game doesn't even manage to launch properly, which isn't something you can do a lot about.

There are a couple things we can still attempt though. Are you using a dual GPU system? I.e., does your computer have 1 as part of the CPU and a second dedicated card? I suspect it does, because the NVidia one is most certainly a dedicated GPU (they don't make CPUs) and pretty much every CPU made in the last 4-5 years includes an onboard GPU. If so, it could be that switching the GPU being used will make a difference. Usually software on your machine will decide which GPU to use, but you can force either to be used on an application basis:

Quote

The first step is to manually set SC4 to use the NVidia card in the NVidia control panel. Right-click on your desktop and click "NVidia Control Panel." On the left menu, choose "Manage 3D settings." Click "Add," navigate to the SC4 EXE, and select it. Then set it to use the NVidia card rather than Internal AMD one Graphics. (Image of this)

Of course it could be that the NVidia card is the problem, in which case you may want to try using the AMD integrated GPU, assuming you have one.

After that, the last hail Mary would be to try disabling all background apps on your PC, just to see if one is interfering. But before we get to that, let's look at the dual-GPU issue first.
