Shutting them up for good!

Well, I am at the point where I am sick and tired of those "advisers" or whatever/whoever they are.

Whenever I start a new city, this sim (picture below) gets on my nerves telling me every freaking 10 minutes or so that I have to zone more areas, make other city connections or that this and that is becoming a "need" for the sims.....Darn it! After 10 years of playing the game I know all this by now.

Then, as soon as I hit 1,000 population, it becomes "Pop-up Hell" in my game. This and that is available, do this and that....etc. There's one time when I have at least 12 consecutive "Pop-ups" of freaking rewards becoming available..........believe me, if I could shoot him, I would....lol

Now, my question is : Is there a way to freaking shut up that "big mouth" in a way that I will NEVER see him again?

Thanks, an answer on this will keep my stress controlled..... ;)....lol

You can turn off the advice pop-ups in settings. I've turned off the advice pop-ups and critical pop-ups. Works fine for me. ;)

The problem with the rewards is that, if you have many plugins, the authors tend to use the same threshold to hand them to you. Your two churches seem to break the mold, but it's pretty common for me to get 5 popups for rewards at some key population thresholds. I am at the point that I think of just changing rewards conditions of plugins for better spacing myself, or just remove the "rewards" aspect completely.

Fred, just play on hard, then turn them off.  You then get alerts only on the ticker.

A bientot, John.

Beat me too it....   Sometimes I wish they'd pop up in the game cause I'll forget to check the ticker and menu for some time before realizing there's gifts I should/need to plop.

Because I try to keep my budget just above need, I get the advisers constantly ticking away to boost this and that, blah blah blah....

Thanks for the replies already. I knew about the adviser's pop-up's  in settings, but didn't think that this was actual working since I had as many after, but now that you say that the advisers and the remarks are different pop-ups, I understand.

Oh yes, I got a lot of stuff in my plugins, usually playing with a 7 Gb size or more, meaning a lot of rewards that surface all the time. Never thought that "hard-play could turn off the remark pop-ups. Good point and idea there, John. Gotta try this. I'm still surprised that there ain't a mod or setting for this.

    Thanks again.

After enough time you learn to check the ticket every so often. When a building burns down or half your city leaves cause you didn't know you were out of water you learn to check the ticker a lot. I also run through the rewards menu from time to time as well to make sure nothing I can plop down has snuck through. It beats having to deal with pop ups all the time. Since I turned them off I haven't missed them at all!!!

Mods are not necessary when a simple game switch suffices.  Show the number of people who rush into mods without knowing all the capabilities of the game.  Waste of effort.

BTW, I leave urgent advice dialogues on (the red bordered ones) since they often have links to the problem.  The blue ones I usually just close.

The blue ones are rewards, I just found out.....

Btw, is there a way to put a game into hardplay while the city already was started? I suppose I need a mod for this?

I turned off "show urgent messages" in preferences (I think it was preferences) because my advisors were driving me crazy. Now I only hear from them in the news ticker. They are super annoying, aren't they?

There is an Easter egg available for these damned advisors.  Hit CTRL+x and type dollyllama in the dialogue box then hit return.  the advisor panel must be closed when you do this.

My financial advisor tends to be pretty pleased with me because my cities are never in the red. But that bloody environment advisor keeps shutting down my water pumps because they are near farms. Please...

Use Relatively expensive (10,000) but cheap to operate.  You only need one or two per large tile.  If you don't like the flag you can remove/replace it with the lot editor.
