I need to quit this game, it's so broken

I'll start off by saying I really enjoy this game.  I need to quit this broken game for now and just wait because the frustration that is mounting is getting much too high.  This game wasn't anywhere close to a finished product.

1)

This game is really broken right now.  The agent traffic system is just completely stupid right now.  The cars are way too big for the roads.  Also they get stuck and just stop moving, like literally for hours.  If you look at the 80 agent bus, on a high density square block, its like literally 1/3 the size of the road, aggravatingly stupid.  There are so many traffic roads designed to let high traffic areas flow in real cities and they aren't even in this game.

The maps are way too small, they need to make the maps 3x as large, and the worker/shopper agents need to be halved or cut in thirds.

Like these maps literally can't handle 20k agents, its pathetic.  These roads can barely handle 10 agents...  and low land value density has 600 workers and 300 shoppers?

2)

I've wanted to play multiplayer forever, and I still can't find a region.  I've had to deal with single player region play this entire time, and that's completely broken too.

I'm going to have to quit this game for now, wait for some real fixes, or wait for them to finish the game but at this point why would EA pay their programmers to fix a product that already sold 1.1 million copies?  I might have to wait for the moders to fix this game.

I'm still waiting to retake my cities... always when I make a really nice city and I'm using it as resources provider, oh... sorry, you city stop working properly and it must be skipped. I never be able to load again the city so, why I spent my time?

We're a SimCity community, not an affiliate of EA. So in no way do we aim to protect or mask their reputation. It's perfectly fine to express a opinion about the game, as the OP has done. But debating this opinion won't achieve much good.

So if you'd like to express your own thoughts and feelings about the game, you're most welcome to start a new thread.

Yep, taking a break from the game as well, back to The Secret World for me.  My "coming back point" will be when they release an update that expands the map size.  At that point I'll reinstall and revisit to see if that makes a big enough improvement.  If it does, I'll consider purchasing any DLC's that may have been released.

Point being: EA/Maxis will not be getting anymore money from me until they fix the game.

  • I ended up playing again until 3 AM last night...  this game hurts so good.

I did completely avoid every frustrating aspect of the game though, no coal or oil power plants, no high density except two commercial high density for an entire block worth of low and medium wealth residential.

I made a nice Casino town last night of 30k population.  Will expand my tourism with more casinos and attractions soon.

I made a region but for 7 hours until I logged no one joined the region, probably because they can't find it.  So much for multiplayer.

    Off topic content removed.

For those who might need a reminder, discussing the various aspects of the game and its game play in a healthy way is perfectly acceptable (never said otherwise). On the other hand, making comments directed at an individual's like or dislike of the game is not. That's a totally subjective viewpoint and there's no point in ridiculing or putting down someone for it. That goes against the 'discuss the issues, not each other' policy of this site.

I keep telling my self every day : " Don't build that 3 city region again you thick headed bafun, it will just get bugged again, and you will start over tomorrow", but tomorrow I turn on SimCity again :)
