Can I take one region's terrain and make a new region (with different sized cities)?

You should just be able to make a new config bitmap for it...right? 1X1 Pixel for small 2X2 for medium and 4X4 for large.


Also, small city pixels should be red (the Red value of their color should be at maximum, 255), medium should be green (again, 255) and large should be blue (255).


Create the .BMP file in MS Paint or something, name it 'config', and put it in the new region folder.

Make that config.bmp.  It has to be a bit map.  I seriously doubt it will work for Timbuktu. 


First you would have to obliterate all the existing cities, then take it into Mapper to convert it into a *.jpg.  This may or may not wipe out the tutorial meanings, so you should also rename it.

I'm not sure if changing the config alone can change the city tiles of an existing region (no matter whether the cities are developed or not), or if this would work at all and the game won't crash.


Try wouanagaine's SC4 Terraformer or Mapper, open the (preferably "clean") Timbuktu region, and export it as .SC4M. Then you can change the config and generate the region anew. Unfortunately, you will have to open all city tiles one by one and plant the God-mode trees yourself.
