Blurred Region view

hey guys wierdest thing here sorry about the small picture.

My tiles each seem to be at different resolutions, the one can be low res then i play a while save and exit to region and its high res and stays that way. here it is the north and the north west outskirts, im posting this now because the tile to the west was low res for quite some time and just suddenly changed

this apples with both satelite and transport view. I would very much like to have all of them in high res so if anyone has any idea what could be causing this or have experienced anything like it let me know please

I've noticed that issue as well. Would love to hear that there is a solution. Also, there's that problem where you get lines in between water-covered city tiles. Anyone get that too?

  • I've had that too it kind of corrected itself though, even though my tiles were fully reconciled.

it seems to be very random its not a set problem by doing something the game doesnt recognize or have anything to do with plugins or terrain mods, im using appalachian terrain but this happened with default maxis too, ive tried saving and exiting to region view from all zoom levels but that didn't help either even though I hoped it would haha

For me it has never been random. It occurs very specifically in one "big city".

I have not seen it happen in my region for a medium or small sized city.

Computing cost saving measure. The bigger and more complex the region render, the more computer resources required to show it. Maxis decided that after a certain point of complexity that the region render would become blurrier to avoid that city being a drag on the machine.

It seems nonsensical, but so does a 6 minute hardcoded commute time...
