Road Mapping Colour Mod

I haven't really played for almost 8 months , but I continued downloading, testing and installing files during the summer, but.....I must have forgotten to test one specific file or simply forgot to test it or maybe it's got nothing to do with both and is probably a conflict within files.

In the picture below you see citytiles with green fieldzones, white roads and blue ferrylines, which were the ones I had before. Now that I played in the cities, these colours changed, roads are black, so are the ferrylines which are on top of it rippled with white lines and fields are beige. I am pretty sure that I did Not install another mapcolourmod lately, or whatever you may call it, so why did it change?

Has anyone an idea or knowledge of what happened? Please don't tell me to do the half/half search of the plugins folder......lol....my plugins are 14 GB's big and it takes quite awhile to load and change/take out the files.

Thanks

mrb

Hmm, I don't know this mod but I'll try to help. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the NAM overrides the default Rush Hour Region Mod Transportation view.

So if you have a mod that overrides the NAM folder, I suggest you check the NAM folder itself or any folders in your plugin from N - Z. Hopefully you won't have to remove your half of your Plugins.

  • I already have a transportation regional mod, can't find it and don't know what it's called, but it is not as it shows the colours now. I figure that there must be a conflict with another file.

I took NAM out and it didn't change anything.

Did you: load the city --> save --> exit to region ? The region view won't update if you don't save.

Yes I did. And it didn't change anything. Without any plugins, the regionview transportation map is ok, just like Maxis wanted it to be. So, I suppose that I have a conflict between some files and since no one here seems to have experienced this, I guess I will have to spend a week or two (lol) to go through my 14 Gb Pluginsfolder one by one. Thanks

Instead of doing the 50/50 search, you may try to find the conflicting file with tool first. Do a scan over your plugins, then switch to TGI view and activate the filter 'application'. Scroll through and search for 'Regional transport map' entries.

In my case it looks like this (click image for full size):

    SC4DataNode_TGIview.png

At indices 116 to 118, I can see that in my setup the original dataview map gets overridden twice. The RHW plugin overrides the original Maxis map before itself being overridden by the Edmonton transportation map mod. The good thing is that the list shows you the actual names and paths of the files which modify these values.

Hope this may be of some help :)

  • Great, I didn't know (think) that could do that. That should work. Thanks, I will try it tomorrow, with 14 GB it will take a few minutes to load, and I'll get back to you. ;)

    Thanks for the idea.
