Changing Seasons?

I have been following the progress of Simcity 2013 for ages. For me it looks like a good new foundation to push the game series forward.

My first game from Maxis was A-Train back in the 90s on my Amiga. A stunning little game where cities grew up around the rail lines, which led me to Sim City 2000 when I first moved over to Windows. Both games were similar in concept and graphics.

One interesting feature was seasons. In A-Train the land and cities would change as the year went on, from Summer to Winter. Snow would appear on the ground and leaves would drop in the Autumn. Nothing too fancy was going on, but just added to the life of a changing living world.

Has there being any talk of something similar, especially as we have seen night/day concepts? Afterall Maxis were able to do this, in basic terms, 20 years ago.

there is a dry season, wet season with more rain in the wet season obv. this can result in different levels in the ground water table. no snow though.
