Ok, i got confused with these things....if someone else got issue with brown boxes, well, i got issues with another boxes.... o.O

i've got no idea what is the cause of this...lack of dependency or graphics problem.....?? but after i've done a little observation, apparently these boxes appeared when some cars parked in, as i didnt see any of these boxes in the newly growth parking area ... so i assume i might miss some dependencies of car props....well, it's just my assumption tough....

Anyway,...anyone ever encountered this problem...??? i could use a little help here...it's so annoying just to see these boxes ruining the reality of my cities... >:(

  • Have you tried to switch from software rendering to hardware rendering. The textures may be too big for software rendering to handle...

    The truth is, i'm using hardware rendering now....so, are saying that this is a graphic problem and not missing something in my plugins..??

    Sounds like you have missing DAT files from the installer. Try to reinstall and see. :)

    Hmmm....i'll try this too and see....thanks for comment. :}

  • Check the download pages for those lots and see if you have missed a dependency. Make sure you have BldgProps_Vol1 & _Vol2.

    Uumm, i don't know but....those boxes appeared in almost all of my parking lots (including the original Maxis lots).....so, do you think that i need any dependancy for the original Maxis parking lots too... :???:

    as for bldgprops,..i already have those two within my plugins...that's why i got confused of what kind of dependency i missed...

    There is a mod by Pegasus that shows those colours when you would normally get a brown box. If you have this mod, the query the lot, and check out its dependencies.

    Otherwise, run dxdiag and see if there is something amiss with your multimedia hardware.

    Parking lots are a common dependency. Take a look at one of the lots in the lot editor.

    The other possibility is that one of the default in-game .dat files (in Program Files) has been stepped on, and a reload is in your future.

    Cefien,

    It is also possible a plugin is overwriting the original Maxis vehicle props. Remove all plugins. In addition to making everything custom in the city vanish, it should restore everything on the Maxis lots to vanilla if they were indeed changed. If the Maxis lots still have giant neon-coloured cubes, then a reload is indeed in your future.

    And it should go without saying, don't save you city while all the plugins are gone. :P

    ^The game's core .dat files (Simcity 1.dat, Simcity 2.dat, etc.) are very important and can cause serious issues if they are messed with. Unless you have a backup, changes can be very difficult to make. Sometimes a reinstall is your only option.
