Orange Squares instead of icons in menus

Hi Guys. Can anyone tell me what it means when I have a blank orange square instead of a picture icon in my menus [landmarks, civic buildings, et.c.) When I hover the cursor over the orange square it tells me what it is. And when I plop it, it plops the proper building. But why is there no picture icon. This question is no biggie, . . . but if anyone knows . . . Thanks a million!

If you could get a screen shot of the menus that might help.

If needed instructions on getting a screen shot:

Use the print screen key(on your keyboard)to take a shot in game

then exit & open ms paint or another program & press ctrl v to load

the image. Then save it as .Jpeg & upload it into your post).

Oh hey! I have this problem too, even took a screen of it, but i dont know where it went..

Anyway I heard it has something to do with missing dependencies, but I'm not so sure about that. I've learned to deal with it, but i'm still curious about a solution.

There are a few things that I've seen cause this issue. One is that an item was made that has an icon that interferes with another in the menu list. This usually results in the icons being mis-named and might appear to be one name off, and a gap might appear to move down the list.

Another is if you have tried to install a file that affects another but the other is not installed. The GLR station patch is one such download. The individual files permit the older stations they relate to to function correctly with newer NAM versions. If the original stations are not installed, the missing menu spaces will result.

The other is that the menu icons were created with images whose characteristics are outside the parameters that the game can read. The ones I am familiar with are some items created by Heblem. He had made a few downloads with icons that could no be seen in the game's 32 bit color mode. In this case you might try setting the game to 16 bit mode to see if the menu icons can be seen.
