how to get CO$$$?

What are the conditions under which Co$$$ will grow? I have this insane demand for it, and tons of commercial zoning (all densities), but none of it grows. I've tried planting trees, putting plazas... it just won't grow.

Help?

Have you checked the attractivity map view? Are you sure there's no garbage lying around? Is pollution low and traffic high? What's the tax rate for CO§§§ and how big is your city?

Oh great rail disaster! I think that display is called desirability.

  • I did check desirability -- green all over the settled area of the map. No pollution, no garbage -- but also no car traffic, since I try to make my sims rely on subway and walking. Is that what's going wrong?

That indeed is a major cause of the CO$$$ stalling--if you have mass transit, try to eliminate some stations, so that there's still need to use cars on the area. Also, check the layout of your roads, to see if you can change them to funnel more car traffic through the CBD area. Alternatively, increase the population of the city, as well as the neighboring cities, in order to have enough workers for them.

Nope, you landed in the wrong thread. ;) I was confused myself - as it happens, a_muses opened a thread where he asked about CO§§§ (high wealth offices) - that's where we are right now - and pretty much at the same time you opened one to ask for help with CO§§ (medium wealth offices).^^

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Another thing I did was remove Pegasus' lovely SkyFarms from my plugins, because they were sucking up all my workers. When I did that, suddenly the CO$$$ started to grow like weeds! (And after that, if you've seen my CJ, I messed up my map and lost most of my cities. T_T)
