B.A.T. not recognizing the game

Hello, I have a legitimate copy of SimCity 4 that I downloaded from EA.  I have downloaded GMAX already, but when I try to download the BAT from EA, it says that I have to have the game installed.  I do have the game installed and play it every day.  I was hoping that someone might be able to help me figure this out, and if someone has already posted a question on this, I apologize .  Thank you in advance for any help that can be offered!

I guess the obvious question is which copy of the game do you have?

If you have the pure, original SimCity 4, the BAT can't see it because the version number is wrong.  The BAT only works with game version 1,1,638,1 or 1,1,640,1 preferrably the latter.

If you have downloaded SimCity 4 Deluxe from EA, you still need the two updates:  EP1 to get to 638; BATupdate to get you to 640.

If you are playing without these updates, I am surprised that you don't crash a lot.

If you are running SimCity 4 original, there is still an update on the EA site for your game.  To run the BAT, however, you will have to add the Rush Hour expansion pack and the two patches above.

You can find all this on the EA site.
