Idea : Simtropolis Census

Simtropolis have a cultural diversity, people from all continents are here.

Could the simtropolis developers make a Census , maybe year-by-year, just making a poll, to discovery the place and the mother language of users.

Isnt so usual, because the in simtropolis everybody understand English, but i think isn't so hard to do the Census and a lot of people have curiosity about that.

=]

Ps: Sorry about english errors, I'm Brazilian living in Canada, I'm not write in English so well yet.

It appears that Simtropolis has Google analytics so it should not be that hard to find out a rough number per country, but not all users have filled out their profile and not all are still here so a member by country count would be hard, Alexa has some estimated visitor info.

Duke has a link to a Simtropolis webpage that tracks all of the users (unique pageview) locations in the past 3 months I think.

That link is pretty close to what a census would be.

Not to talk about Schulmania's Flag Counter, which can be a quite reliable source because a lot of people have passed by there sometime... The results are quite approximate to the ones in the visitors counter above.

Thats the first time I've seen a global visitors map on Simtropolis! It's quite interesting to see the variety of people that use Simtropolis on a monthly basis. I was surprised to see some visitors from even the remote countries in Africa (Botswana and Nambia to name a few). 4.gif It's so awesome seeing the worldwide following SimCity 4 has!

That map certainly is very interesting indeed. I find it remarkable how many people visit Simtropolis from a broad range of countries. But I am surprised that only 4,500 people are from India, considering the number of people that live there.

Its also funny there are 13,766 people from North-Korea.

That's obviously a mistake, and the number of visitors from South-Korea is exactly the same.

It's also quite interesting to see there are 42,000 people from the Netherlands, that's alsmost as much as Australia (43,000) and more than much bigger countries like Spain and Russia.

According to some calculations I've made, the Netherlands is the country with most Simtropolis visitors per inhabitant! If the Wikipedia data are correct, 1 out of each 392 Netherlands citizens has browsed Simtropolis; surpassing the visitors/inhabitant ratio of countries like the U.S., Canada, Finland, Singapore, which are close.

Having visited Cuba, and having talked to a few citizens thereof, that is a falsehood. It is merely more restricted.

Yes it is amazing. Not only that, even more amazing is the number of views in certain countries(ie:44 people in Nigeria have viewed ST despite it is one of the world's poorest countries, as well as Brazil got more views than France, despite it is still not developed entirely. This shows that people in poor and rural countries still have some of our modern technoloy.

Brazil have 190 millions of people, France 70 million.

We have sufficient technology to have more internet users in simtropolis than France. That not a surprise for me. 6.gif

But I understood what your comment means. 9.gif
