I have had it happen a few times, but I couldn't say it was any more than using other "Save" methods. Actually. I would say I've had the game "hang" more using the "Save and Exit..." method (which I very seldom use anymore) more than the quick save.

Yes, and not so far.  It was not a large city.

  • All grist for the mill.  I am looking very hard at the causes of crashes and hangs in the game.  So far, I have had:

    Segmentation Fault: 1

    Hang on CTRL+S: 2

    Hang on menu save: 0

    CTD: Too many to count.

So far, I have determined that CTD's generally are access violations.  That is, defererencing a bad or null pointer, which should not happen, but something is getting stepped on, somewhere.  I don't read binary dumps anymore, and even if I did, I'd need a load map and the page table layout, which I don't currently have.  The only way to stop this would be to debug the program with the source code.  A faint hope indeed.
