I have leisure satisfaction nearly above 50%

Any tip to improve it?

It's totally unrealistic, i have to build two or three leisure on every street to get at least 70%?!

No, you have to combine the different leisure buildings (sports and culture), overlapping their area-of-effect. 5 basektball courts next to each other won't increase satisfaction, but a basketbal court, a paintball and a sports museum will.

Is somewhat annoying that I typically end up having to spent more on leisure than police, healthcare and education combined yet it still ends up being the service with the lowest satisfaction rating.

    Totally agree!

We need a mod that increase the leisure's effect...

    Totally disagree.

Leisure satisfaction is not that important as the other types. It's intended to be an alternative to satisfying your citizens in cases there are problems (like polution).

Besides, it lets you being creative, by trying to combine different buildings.

I'm not real happy with the leisure building options.  I don't want a single ferriswheel or skytop restaurrant on most of my maps.

HOWEVER, I think leisure does present intersting challanges.  It's hard to use effectively.  It's harder yet to avoid making eyesores.

There's always the alternative of the leisure BPs.

I'm not a fan of a mod for the purpose since:

    1) you don't need perfect liesure satisfaction

    2) you can get really good satisfaction with good planning using the tools the game provides

    3) I believe one of the true challanges of city builders is trying to make a beautiful/realistic/whatever city within limitations

I know that it's not that important...and I know that i don't need perfect leisure satisfaction.

but i don't like to see in my city so many leisure building, and i think that a mod that slightly increase the influence building would be nice...

it's not so important but i think a nice adiction...

i can try to do it on my own, but i don't where to start...any advice?

some tutorial or programs to edit the game???

Maybe not really important, though the tip thing at the top constantly tells me that citizens are bored. It seems that every district needs a sports museum, basketball court, ferris wheel and paintball arena.

my tip for maintaining 100% leisure satisfaction (and most other types of satisfaction) is to not create new residential districts until i've reached 100% in existing. This way i find it much easier to determine which area is dragging down the stats ie the new area4.gif. If after building the new area, one or more of those stats are now below 80-90%, then i'll either demolish and rebuild my services in a better location that services both old and new areas effectively, or build new if the rest are maxed out and located well.

Also important to remember that the more traffic a road can take, the further your effect range and that combining different types is the key as soltangris pointed out.

And now with massively reduced costs for most services since CitiesXL 2011, maintaining complete satisfaction under budget is pretty simple. (Almost too simple IMO but i haven't built a big city yet with the 2011 so may change my opinion)

I still think that the leisure is also annoying at times, I think its not to realistic especcialy in the entertaining in real life factor like movie theatres and other stuff, sorry for ranting its just that I dont believe it's realistic in the buildings that are available, A hockey rink would be nice because theres 3 outdoor rinks every sq. km here 3.gif

Leisure really needs to be redone.  Leisure should be left mainly to sports areanas/stadiums.  Things that normally are built by the government. not private companies like bowling alleys.

I'd like to see a much much larger area of effect for Stadiums.  Should be city wide and should have a large impact.  Like +30%.

I think that too, the game I believe should have more options for leisure in the sprots. A small football field, cricket pitch, hockey rink 9.gif , Modified basketball court and on the other side having movie theatres , clubs and others.

Yeah, I'm on the track with this too 9.gif I'm compiling a short list of 'player's most wanted' changes to send to Focus, who knows they might actually read it 9.gif

There I for m a new leisure cathegory - Entertainment, which is growable (like Hotels), and private (instead of state-supported). I've moved there the Ferris wheel, Bowling allew and couple more of the more ridiculous buildings, and then compiled the Sprots and Culture with some new more logical buildings like a Library and Theater. I also proposed to make leisure a tradeable resource, so that we could actually grow an Entertainment industry.

    Totally agree with soltrangris..

Personally I find the current 'leisure' system very unrealistic.. Certain buildings should certainly be provided by the city , such as libraries, museums, sport stadia, etc.. while other are not perse or totally not up to the city imo, like bowling alley, tennis courts, etc..

If you'd make stuff like museums tradeable or even have an effect on tourism, that would make the whole thing much more realistic.. because who doesn't know the Louvre in Paris, the Guggenheim in NY, etc.. they all add up to the image of the city, and to tourism..

my tip is don't even bother trying to get 100% leisure satisfaction. Does it even do anything other than keep the people content, which in turn helps you attract new people? I'd presume not, and if I'm right then hovering around 80-90% if perfectly fine, and really not worth the troubles of trying to achieve perfection. Especially cost vs effect wise.

That goes for almost anything too, at first I was trying to make "perfect" city blocks and stuff, trying to maximize efficiency... which is about impossible to do on a huge scale on this game btw. Eventually I just gave up on perfection, it was too tedious.... filled in some of the gaps with plazas and stuff, and I'm enjoying it much more now.
