What do you think is the ideal size for your lots, R, C, & I?

    Depends:

R: 1x1 for suburban areas (with the occasional 2x2 for rich ppl), 3x3 for semi-urban areas (medium density), and either 3x4 or 4x4 for urban areas. Though the 3x4 could produce some weird grids...

C: I just use 'em in any configuration I like, though I do prefer 3x3 in the beginning, slowly moving towards 4x4 at the end.

I: See my Industrial Complexes thread.

I still have no idea. It depends on the archictect, and the size of real life buildings for some extra add-ons. You need 1x1, by the way, to prevent empty undeveloped spaces.

It depends on the stage of the game.

    At the very beginning, I tend to zone R 1x1, C 1x1 and 1x2, & I with no zones.

In medium to advanced cities, I tend to zone R 1x1 in the suburbs, 1x3 in the downtown*; C 1X3*, 2X3 and 3X3 (let the prog. do it's thing on it's own sometimes,) and I in 3x3, 4x4, and sometimes even 5x5, in industrial parks.

*This both allows the lots to develop quicker, and the possibility of multiple lots combining into a 3X3 or sometimes 4X3 (or larger, though that doesn't happen very often) later as demand warrants.

I don't think you settle this issue once and for all. Depends on whether its downtown of suburbs. For me, I like 2x2 R lots, so a 4X6, or 4X8 blocks is typical in my suburbs. Anything over 12 tiles long and it becomes a little difficult to place my "bus stop on road" BAT.

For Downtown I tend to have a maximum of 8 tiles long. However, if I want some R or C high density buildings, I tend to expand it to 6X12 or 8X12 and beyond.

    For industry, anything goes.
