About This File

London Stock Exchange, by Mattb325.

London Stock Exchange was founded in 1801 and its current premises are situated in Paternoster Square close to St Paul's Cathedral in the City of London. It moved to these smaller premises from the Old Stock Exchange Tower on Threadneedle St in 2004 as modern technology has reduced the need for face-to-face dealings on the trading room floor.

London Stock Exchange is one of the world’s oldest stock exchanges. The current building on Paternoster Sqaure was designed by Eric Parry Architects and Sheppard Robson Architects.

While this is a fairly faithful representation of the real-life building, given the absolutely crazy angles and curves inherent in the original design, not everything is 100% true to real-life; this was done deliberately to ensure that the building can fit comfortably on a 4x4 lot. Additionally, the sun-dial feature on the back wall of the building was omitted because it was too small to be visible in game and the fact that the sun doesn't move in SC4.

This building is modded as a non-conditional Stock Exchange reward (meaning it can be placed at any time without having met prior conditions).

It does not over-write the Maxis Stock Exchange reward and can safely be used in conjunction with these (or any relotted version thereof). This reward has been modded with higher CAP relief and jobs values than the Maxis version. Like the Maxis version, this building costs nothing to place and has no monthly cost.

Placing this Reward provides massive CO§§§ CAP relief, has a landmark effectand also provides up to 155 highly desirable civic jobs.

If you wish to help develop high-wealth commercial skyscraper districts, then in addition to ensuring the other elements of your city (such as good health, education, correct zones, low crime & other infrastructure) are catered for, placing this reward lot will greatly assist in CO§§§ development.

It is on a 4x4 lot.

This download contains TWO file types in two seperate folders; one for dark nite users (and other night-time darkening mods, such as Gizmos night-mod) and one for the standard Maxis nite.
You must choose only one file - depending on which version you use. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version.

If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. (http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23089-simfox-day-and-nite-modd/)

Expensive London real estate means little or no open-air parking exists in the city. If you want to add parking textures, then you know what to do.....

This is a stunning achievement!  Not only is it beautifully textured and lit, but the sheer complexity of it is modeled with an amazing attention and care for detail.  This looks like an incredibly difficult building to BAT, and you've pulled it off in high fashion.  This one should be up for BAT of the Year next time the Trixies roll around!

Thanks for bringing us this excellently detailed model. It was a great move to mod it as a stock exchange, the Maxis one is just so wrong in European environments.

Beautiful model of a fascinating part of a much-loved city! The modding, as superior as one would expect of the author, will help many city builders get their younger cities off the ground or get the high-density commercial district they are hoping for. Great work! The grid-busting appearance could play well with bizarre nearby road geometry and models that can do that are few and far between. Thanks!

You always do stunning work!    Can you please make some casinos with flashing lights?   If anyone can do it, you can!

Loving it! Epic work man.

Suggestions: a 2x2 overhanging version? I want it to fit in tight with FAR networks.

Ideas for your next project: BBC Broadcasting House. It has huge curving walls that would fit this beautifully.

Architectural status: It's complicated.

Welcome back to the STEX and hats off for modeling something as unboxy and intricate as this building!

( I was thinking you had forsaken us for the LEX...*:) ) It was time someone did something about the Maxis Stock exchange. Now that's the grand building it deserves ! I love the glass ceiling of the last storey ;, and the fact that this building is not a box !!!

I don't know if there is a "minimum wage" in SimCity 4, or if even the concept of a minimum wage is meaningful in a simulation game, but it seems to me there is a "lowest wage".  For instance, if the simulation decides to build a "Depessies Diner," a few R$ jobs are created (waiters, waitresses, busboys, etc), a few R$$ jobs are created (the franchise owner, the overall manager of the restaurant, perhaps one or 2 others) and for that business, there are probably no R$$$ jobs created.  My understanding is that rather than a bunch of individuals being simulated, several aggregators are updated, such as the number of R$ or R$$ jobs, the total number of low (medium?) wealth businesses, etc.
I looked for an articles where the "minimum wage" (or "lowest wage")  might be calculated, or at least talked about, but I could find nothing.  I am pretty sure that R$ are probably something like people with wages that are perhaps 1-3 times the lowest wage, R$$ are people with jobs that pay 4-10 times the minimum, and R$$$ jobs pay 11 and more times the minimum (or the appropriate counters are updated).  If maxis or EA has said something "official" about that, I cannot find anything.  If any one has done any calculations about this, I cannot find this either.
The closest I could find were some articles trying to establish an exchange rate between USD and simoleons, but the articles I found applied to the Sims and not necessarily SimCity.  One said that based on the price of gold at the time, a simoleon is worth ~$15, so apparently gold can be pucrchased in the Sims, but not in SC4 (or at least there is no way I know of),  Another article said this is wrong, and compared the price of cars in the Sims with their analog in the real world, and came up with an exchange rate of closer to ~2 to 3 dollars per simoleon.  Though these were from the sims, I saw another article that made the contention that simoleons had the "same value" across the SimCity games, the Sims games, and any other spinoffs.  O f course, a few years ago I did a calculation that based on the cost of a real tennis court vs. the cost of a tennis court in SC4, a simuleon came out to being worth ~$500.
Well anyway, back to my calculation of the "minnimum wage".  I think I can take the total amount of taxes that are paid by R$ residents, mutiply it by 100/9 (11.1...) to calculate the total income of the R$ residents, then divide it by the number of R$ residents (or at least R$ wage earners) to get an average wage for R$ workers.  Then I could do the same for R$$ and R$$$ wage earners (I don't think R$$$ residents are the same as R$$$ wage earners since a R$$$ resident might be a small child, and therefore not a wage earner., then play about with the ranges (for example assume that R$ workers make 1-3 times the minimum, and that R$$ workers make 4-10 times the minimum, etc.) to at least estimate the "minimum" or at least "lowest" wage.  Or is that too simplistic way of doing it, and if it is too simplistic, what might be a better way.  I also downloaded the CORIreports addon, and some of the numbers from those reports might be useful in making these "minimum wage" calculations, rather than trying to "guess" the numbers based on the charts/graphs given in the game.

Hi all city-builders! I would like to request the best mods for some stuff I want to make in my cities:
      a) Airport: one I can plop each piece but also that makes some commercial/industrial demand (that is, not being only cosmetic);
      b) The best slope mod and leveler stuff for building dockyards, ports, nice tunnels, channels, etc;
      c) The proper ports and dockyards' pieces which are ploppable;
      d) Is there a pack with many many models of schools, police departments, firestations, etc.?
      e) Which is the mod that puts bus stops "within" the road tile?

      Old City Courthouse V1.0.0 (Reward)

      Courthouse by Mattb325

This is the 4th upload in a series of Rewards based on BAT models made by other artists.
It is a recreation of the Courthouse made by Mattb325, a fictional courthouse executed in brick, slate and stone, suitable for towns and suburban streets.
This courthouse has been modded very similarly to the In-Game Courthouse and provides a few jobs as well. This recreation will fulfill the lower end of the
Courthouse series and will be available before you will get the In-Game Courthouse. So it will work for both Vanilla and CAM 2.1 users of the game.

This wonderful BAT comes on a new lot and features a custom icon and custom query window. I used the original seasonal trees here, and the nightlight is also
      like the original BAT.
You will find this lot in the Rewards menu right next to the In-Game Courthouse.

Why is it a Reward and only available onces?
This Reward is made for players, who want to work and reach a goal in the game and finally get WHAT? A REWARD of course…
You don’t like it? Well, than this download in NOT for you!

This BAT is for you, if you like “realistic” looking and detailed buildings in your city. There are so many awesome creations like textures and other props made by the community out there, and I think, we should use them.
You don’t like dependencies? Well, again, then unfortunately this download is NOT for you!

I am sure the building was rendered for Maxis Nite, but it should work both with the original Maxis Nite and the Dark Nite Mods.

      Stats (REWARD):

      ·         Lot size:                                   3x4

      ·         Plop cost:                                §23,000

      ·         Bulldoze cost:                         §2,300

      ·         Monthly cost:                          §230 (Government buildings department)

      ·         Pollution:                                 10 (Air)/ 5 (Water)/ 14 (Garbage )/ 0 (Radiation)

      ·         Pollution radii:                         3/4/0/0

      ·         Power consumed:                  28 MWh/month

      ·         Water consumed:                   112 cu m/month

      ·         Landmark effect:                    65 over 25 tiles

      ·         Park effect:                              65 over 25 tiles

In order to get this (Reward), the following requirements need to be met (hard difficulties):

      ·         City population:                       30,000

      ·         Regional population:              35,000

      ·         Mayor rating:                           50

      ·         Mayor’s house:                        1

      ·         Number of parks:                   50

      2 - USE

You need to extract this archive to your root plugins folder, it should then create a folder MSRB\[NAME OF BAT], where [NAME OF BAT] represents the name of this download item. Within that folder, you will find all the game-relevant files and a sub-folder containing the PDF Readme!!! and some screenshot(s).
I strongly suggest that you keep your plugins organized, this original download in a safe place and remove all pics and this description from your plugins. These are not needed for this BAT to work.

If you no longer wish to use this download, proceed as follows:

      1.      Bulldoze all lots pertaining to this download

      2.      Save all the cities and exit the game when you're done bulldozing

      3.      Remove the associated files from your plugins folder

Hint: Just to be sure, I recommend moving the undesired files somewhere else and doing some checks before you delete them permanently. This way, if it turns out you forgot to bulldoze something, you can add it back in temporarily until you're done.

There are a few dependencies for this Reward here, and you'll need the original upload of the BAT to see the building:

I am not responsible for any problems with your game using this BAT. Use at your own risk!

      5 - CREDITS

Once again: Credits for the original BAT go to Mattb325, credits for all the other dependencies go to the BSC-Team, jestarr, shokthrpy, KingOfSimcity, and Paeng! Thanks to T Wrecks for the inspiration how to create a good Readme-file! Without their creations I wouldn’t have been able to create this Reward. Thanks a lot, guys
