Alighieri Apartments, by Mattb325.
---------------------------------------

Alighieri apartments is a fictional creation in the modern international style.

These apartments are 14 floors high and designed to fit into tight inner-city 2x2 blocks. It will work as a stand-alone apartment building as well as in a wall to wall environment. It also provides a little bit of much needed competition to the HKABT/Bixel apartments which have few competitors in the 2x2 space.

Like many inner-city apartment buildings, the ground floor is devoted to retail space.

The tower area has four apartments per floor, each apartment has a corner balcony; the street-facing apartments are larger (3 bedrooms) and have floor-to-ceiling glass in the lounge area.

The rear apartments are 2 bedrooms each. There is no penthouse suite, instead residents enjoy a roof-top communal pool. Basement parking rounds out inner-city convenience.

This is a growable R§§ apartment on a 2x2 lot on all tilesets.

NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE:

This download contains TWO model files; one for dark nite users (and other night-time darkening mods, such as Gizmos night-mod) and one for the standard Maxis nite.
You must keep only one file - depending on which version you use. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. Regardless of which file you choose to keep, make sure you DO NOT delete the Lot File!

If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. (http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23089-simfox-day-and-nite-modd/

---------------------------------------

DEPENDENCIES:

This file requires no external dependencies.

---------------------------------------

NOTE ABOUT PARKING TEXTURES:

Sadly, due to the complaints from a few members of the community, I continue to have to make the parking texture 'disclaimer' on all of my releases.
This building is designed for inner-city areas. With the exception of the US mid-west where there has been massive, continued economic downturn and a flight to suburbia, no inner city area in the world has acres of parking: land is simply too expensive.
This building has underground parking for residents only and visitors are expected to arrive by either public transport or park their car on the street; therefore no parking textures are included in the lot.
If, in the ingame screen shots, there appears to be a parking texture used, it is purely coincidental and merely belongs to an adjacent lot that is not part of this download.
If you want acres of parking or desire a different parking lot texture, then use the lot editor to make that change.

To install, simply unzip the contents of this file into your plugins folder.

Thanks.

Fan-speed review!! (nah, I was downloading Diego's buildings and this one appeared on the list even before the notification came)

It's gorgeous nonetheless, and perfect to go with dense residential redevelopments on latin american themed cities! It's just on the soft and empty spot between super-dense asian buildings and super-huge US residential towers.

Yes! When a city grows over 30.000 - that's the kind of residentials you want to see grow - which are common (at least in europe) and realistic - as most people of the world don't live in luxury mansions. You add much realism with apartment buildings of this kind. This is the stuff real cities mainly consists off.

      ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION (13 July 2011):
"Hey there. I'm IDS, and I'm just another high school kid who's played sim games since kindergarten. I've downloaded several gigabytes of content from the STEX over the years, and for a long time I've wanted to give back, but learning how to BAT was too complex for me and the maps I made were pretty unappealing.About a month ago I downloaded 3dsMax and pushed through a handful of tutorials, including the infamous BAT tutorial. A month later, I'm at the point where I'm only mildly embarrassed of my creations. I really can't go on much further on my own without some advice, and besides, what better way to learn than to know what I need to improve on? Criticism is more than welcome, I know I'm new to this and am still pretty green, so just be honest "
Since I wrote the above, over 6 years have passed, and I am now worrying about grad school instead of high school. However, I still have a passion for mid-century modern architecture, and I like to think I've learned a few things along the way! I tend to make slow progress on all of my projects, so I apologize in advance for being a tease.

KOSC presents: Diego Del Llano's Puerto Vallarta Growables - Icon Vallarta
      Introduction
Diego's Puerto Vallarta Growables is a new series of re-lots featuring @Diego Del Llano's fantastic BATs that were based in his hometown. As quite of few of these buildings had their bases graciously removed for lotting, I've decided to take another step beyond just converting them into growables. This first release will cover Icon Vallarta, a luxurious condo building located on the beachfront in Puerto Vallarta.
      Package Overview
The building was lotted in several different configurations, from your typical small footprint growable to a massive two and three tower complex. Some lots take advantage of the fact that the real-life version is located in a tropical climate. Thus, several lot will have palm trees and tropical plants as its primary flora source. The layout of the largest complex in particular is loosely based off its actual real-life counterpart from the layout of the entrances down to the relative placement of the pool and the buildings.
Included in the following package are a total of 5 lots: All are R§§§ growables.
      General Stats
The included growable lots will provide occupancy anywhere from 915 R§§§ to 2738 R§§§ sims, based on the number of buildings in the lot. The lots themselves are offered in the following configurations.
3x2 front, stage 8; 3x3 front, stage 7; 4x4 left corner, stage 7 for the single tower variant 6x8 front, stage 6 for the dual tower variant 6x10 front, stage 7 for the triple tower variant Detailed stats and information can be found in the enclosed README.
      Install Instructions
Drop the files in your My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder. Since the original buildings used separate IDs for both the MaxisNite and DarkNite models, two separate zips are included at your convenience.
