About This File

UPDATE: I have lost motivation in developing this tool, so I plan on handing this responsibility to someone else or making it open source. If you are interested, send me a PM.

Welcome to my Mod Manager. This tool allows you to easily add and remove mods without the hassle of dragging and dropping many files. The functionality of this tool is fairly limited as of right now, as I am pretty new at programming (I am in high school), but  over time, more and more features will be added.

New Version ( 1.1,0) Released!

What's New in 1.1:

- HUGE Graphical Rework

- Ability to Re size Window
- Added Screenshot Viewer
- Bug Fixes

Update 1.0.8 Includes:

- Ability to Add multiple mods to available mod list (Finally!)

- Ability to drag multiple mods the available mod list

- ID numbers will now scale properly when a mod is removed from the list

For those updating from 1.0.0,

TAKE THESE STEPS:

1. Delete all mods currently installed
2. Delete SimcityModManager Folder in Documents Folder
3. Launch Application
4. Re install All Mods

Planned:

.rar support

Mod Downloader

Compatibility Checker

Icons and Pictures (Done)

More Friendly UI (Done)

I already have installed mods, but after choosing the folder, i don't see anyone of them in the program. Also, when i click options and then change, the simcity folder isn't set as destination, only the Origin Games folder, i can't change it...

To change the destination folder, you click the button with three small dots next to the textbox. Also, it does not detect already installed mods... yet.

Thank you very much, I think this mod will come in very handy as it allows the user to be more sure of where it would install.

will this work for the mods that need to be installed in different folders ie eco game, SimCity data, and the other ones that need the files to be split up and put into other folders ?

#1 HS or JRHS doesn't matter .. most of us at one point started out at ages you can't imagine.  I got into this when I was age 11 so .. keep it up.  It takes passion and creativity.

#2 is something many people have wanted and your the first to do it.. so keep It up.. your doing fine so far :)

remember the hardest person to please is yourself not usually others.. in many ways you will be your own worse critic when making mods, managers or features for others.  I don't know of a single person who makes mods, applications or software in general whom didn't start by doing it on their own somehow.. so great job.

Look forward to seeing what you come up with

Peace

This seem certainly like a nice idea. Do you have planned to make this an open source project and/or planned to open a support thread in the forums?

Can anyone run this? Windows keeps "protecting me" from it, and when I told it to run anyway Norton told me it quarantined the "SONAR.heuristic" virus.

To be honest I've been using Mac for the past 7 years (I'm borrowing my son's new laptop while he is at school) so I'm not sure what to make of this.

Update: I discovered that I could tell Norton to restore this app from quarantine and ignore it from now on. I hope I don't have a virus. :)

I keep getting the error "could not find a part of the path" when trying to install a mod using your mod manager. Everything else seems to work fine so far, can't check the uninstall to see if it works because i can't get a mod installed.  "Launch Game" doesnt work either.

Any updated version after 1.0 that I download won't open up.

Try deleting the SimcityModManager Folder in your documents and then running the latest version.

It still doesn't work for me. Everytime I download it, it is only 64kb and an error pops up saying that it can not open file. It's probably something on my end, but I just wanted to check if anyone else has ran into this issue.

Thanks

Getting Microsoft.Net frame work error.

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue the application will ignore and attempt to continue. If you click quit. The application will close immediately.

Could not find file

C\Users\Admin\Documents\SimcityModManager\InstalledMods.txt

How do i fix this?

Change the file type to ".disabled", SimCity wont load it.

Better way because you don't need InstalledMods.txt and a folder dedicated for disabled mods.
