The Extended Worker Data Mod 2.41

About This File

Have you ever wondered how many jobs of each wealth level a work building supports? This Mod adds three bars to the civic, commercial and industrial buildings rollovers that gives you just that information. It will also help you make informed decisions in regards to zoning for residential buildings.

In order to make this Mod, I created a new piece of UI with a matching data binding function. Fortunately, there was already an example similar to what I wanted to do in the MegaTower Office level rollover, so my first task was to copy the layout with the three bars into a new file.

I then looked up how the worker data was fed into the bars in the rollover, and copied that piece of JavaScript into another file. Because of the way the UI is packed in the game, I had to find a JavaScript file that is packed by itself rather than add the function to the main (and very long) UI file. To do this, I opened the Mayor Rating UI file and pasted the code at the bottom of it. I renamed the original “kSkyTowerLevelOfficePopulation” function to “kWorkers” and encoded it to “0xe15027f1”.

Finally, I went through all the units in the game that have workers (I actually looked for the code for “kMaintenance” and combed through the results) and added the new rollover item’s ID to their list of extended rollover data.

where do I put the .package file within the simcity subfolders to get this working?

On my Mac I put it in SimCity > Contents > Resources > SimCityData     I'm guessing (though I could be wrong) that it's similar on a PC?

Thanks a lot for this mod! I installed it today and will have my work cut out for me utilizing it now. I see how understaffed place really are now. Bravo and cheers to you!!

Question:  How is it possible that I have Shoppers and Workers but no residents.   I'm slowly learning the working of this game.

Never Mind I fixed the issue. I just extracted the .rar file then moved it to Sim City/sim city data and then I patsed the file into the data. Reall great mod. I never realized my worker shortage was that bad.

@Blackkatt, you cannot directly link something from your private cloud drive and expect others to be able to see it. Look around for a public url or option to create one (aka share url or direct link [for use on websites like this one]), then edit your post with the correct URL.

You can make the image appear, like maxisguillame did at the top, using the picture icon on the toolbar above when editing.

The page says April 8 but the file is still dated January 31st? How come? I just downloaded it again to be sure.

I have seen another mod by another person that has same date and time; it could be something with the simcity modding program (available on the site) OR they could have just changed attributes (removed them) for privacy. The file will store your windows username and many other personal credentials and MaxisGuillame may have removed all attributes, where it just sets the date to that date, just to protect his privacy.

Nice mod. Doesn't seem to work though. Playing in offline mode. The population data screen shows no available low wealth jobs. However, most buildings I hover over have plenty of available low wealth jobs! Why do I have unemployed sims? Why is the population detail screen wrong? Or is this mod wrong?

Seems people are saying the info this mode gives is a little inaccurate, but I'm gonna try it and find out. I love mods that give me more info about my city, thanks!

Does this mod require the Cities of Tomorrow DLC as I can't get it to work.. If it does you should let folks know.

Update: After finding out from another modder about their mod I decided to put this file in the simcitydata folder and now it works thank you for the awesome mod.. :)

I did the same and it didn't work for me. I have just the Vanilla SC2013.

I have vanilla SC2013, and added this mod correctly like any other mod. The other mods are in-game (off-line), but I don't see this one in game. I hover over the buildings and all it gives me is the original information and status, and if I click on the buildings it will give me the original status (happiness, value, etc.).

What else do I need to do?

I've placed it in the Simcitydata folder myself, but I doesn't show up for me while playing the game, even when I hover over the buildings.
