About This File

Falers and Sebalds, Part of the Smalltown, USA Series by JBSimio

Elijah Faler and his brother-in-law, William Sebald, were both men of moderate means. Yet they shared the common dream of opening their own businesses. In 1898, the two men pooled their money and began work on a structure to house two businesses, Faler’s Drugstore and Sabald’s Bakery. The two men could not decide on a common architectural style. William wanted bay windows with a nice roof above the entrance to his bakery, while Elijah thought this a frivolous waste of funds. Finally, the two men compromised and designed two store fronts, where Elijah realized his love for arches. Unfortunately, this confused the builders who thought they were erecting two separate buildings. The result was a brick wall right down the middle of the building which can still be seen today along the roof. This caused countless headaches when the apartments on the second and third floors were renovated eighty years later.

Faler’s Drugstore and Sebald’s Bakery is the first release in the Smalltown, USA series. It contains both growable and ploppable versions. The ploppable version shares the same jobs, pollution, etc. as the growable. The only differences are a plop cost of 1200 and bulldoze cost of 120.
