Keep Clear Roadmakings
======================

Another member at Simtropolis asked about placing keep clear markings onto the road networks. This led to the creaton of these simple lots and textures. In the UK such markings are quite common, especially at the entrances of emergency services, but also at junctions too.

I'm not sure about other parts of the world, but it was easy enough to make US and LHD/RHD variants, so all configurations are supported.

== UPDATE 22 Feb 2017 ==

I realised I had used the wrong IDs for the textures in this package. You should update to v1.1 to avoid conflicts. Make sure you remove any previous files and use the replacements contained in this update.

== Installation ==

The basic installation requires 2 files:

 - MGB Keep Clear Lots.DAT
   Contains 3 lots for Street, Ave and Road,
   find them in the Misc Transit Menu
 - KeepClearMarkings_XX-YYY.dat
     XX = Road type, either US or EU
     YYY = Driving Side, either RHD or LHD
   Found inside the folder "Textures (Keep Only One)"
   Includes textures for the 3 lots and the LE.

You must remove three of the texture files from the folder "Textures (Keep Only One)", keeping only the file that matches your game.

So for example, if you use US textures and your sims drive on the right (RHD), remove both EU files and the US LHD file. Failure to do this may cause the lots to appear incorrectly.

One additional file is also supplied, "Maxis Ave Texture Fix - OPTIONAL.dat". The curb stone has been removed on one side of the texture, to better match avenues when zoned with low density. In essence, so both sides of the lot match. This fix if kept installed will propogate to any other aveune textures using the same Maxis ID. If for any reason you don't want this, you can simply remove this file. It is not required for the lots to function as intended.

== Usage ==

Simply place the correct lot onto the Street, Road or Avenue as required. There are no costs whatsover, these are completely neutral lots with no posative or negative effects. They serve mostly as eye-candy, but are transit enabled to allow traffic to pass.

== Dependencies ==

Since these lots are pretty simple, there are no dependencies required. However, to make placing them easier, if you have SPOT installed, it will show where the road markings will be when plopping. YOu can download SPOT from here:

== Limitations ==

As usual, limitations within the game do come with some drawbacks.

You won't be able to zone x1 width zones directly adjacent to these lots, because TE lots are not networks. If you do this, Res will abandon. Com and Ind lots may not have a problem with it however, because they work differently. However, it's advised to use lots/zones of 2 tiles in width where you place the included lots.

These lots should not be affected by the CTD when hovering a puzzle piece over them, due to how they were modded. However, that's all irrellivant, I urge you to download the fix for this problem by Simmaster07, if you have not already:

== Lotters ==

An extra texture is included, an overlay with just the road markings. Since that may come in handy when lotting.

== Licence/Distribution ==

Feel free to spam these textures/lots to the entire world, should you wish. You can freely edit, share or use these works as you like. One small restriction, re-releasing these lots as-is on either Simtropolis or SC4 Devotion is strctly prohibited. I make one exception to this, whereby I am no longer contactable and these files are unavailible. Under such circumstances you may re-upload these, provided credit is given to me, the author.

Enjoy :).
