This PEG Utopia Series lot is an improved version of the game-default Waste to Energy Power Plant. Using the real-world Plasma Gasification process to vaporize waste material, the resulting steam & SynGas are both used to power generators to produce electricity. In addition to the obvious advantage of turning trash into electricity and reusable green fuels, the process is extremely clean and environmentally friendly. Plasma Gasification has been used for years for the disposal of industrial & bio hazard wastes. More recently, municipalities world wide are adopting the process to eliminate the huge costs and environmental issues of dumping municipal solid wastes into landfills. New technologies and innovations have greatly reduced the operating costs of this process... and have added additional benefits in the form of generated electricity, reusable clean fuels, recyclable products and even potable water. The Plasma Gasification Plant is a fully detailed model of a workable gasification and power generation process. The interior of the structure is illuminated to make the components visible through the dome. In-game, the lot is a identical to the game-default Waste to Energy Power Plant except that is a single tile wider (5x4) and produces very little pollution over a much smaller area. ** This file has no dependencies. This PEG Utopia Series lot is a larger version of the game-default subway station. It uses an open, subterranean plaza-like style to provide a glimpse into your city's underground world. The lot is 3x3 tiles in size... which should make it much easier to find amid large groupings of sky-rises.The costs are doubled... from §500/20 to §1,000/40... as are most of the other properties such as power/water usage and pollution (which is still minimal). However, the capacity is increased 150% from 2,000 to 5,000... and the number of jobs is significantly higher to reflect employment in the included shops. As an added bonus, it also has the same properties as a medium-sized plaza. It is not only an improved transportation station... but it will also promote desirability and growth in the area. * The lot uses timed props to simulate the coming and going of the subway train. The train cycles on & off (or in & out, if you prefer) every 4 hours game time. * The model is extensively nite lighted. The subway train is a visual element only and not part of your actual subway network. The model can be rotated when plopped to align with the connecting subway tunnel but this is not required. ** This file has no external dependencies. 3. Ionica - The Shape of Things to Come

Replies 10000000000000: Awesome city!Extremely dense, but it doesn't lose any beauty The nightlighting is my favorite part! Thanks. For me, finding buildings with nice night lighting is key. vivapanda: You have put a lot of imagination in this: acadamic competition (absolutely awesome idea!), Stex godess, I like it! Thanks to this some sort of 'identity' is given to each building, important in such an enourmous city. Thanks vivapanda, I'm glad it has entertained you. SimCoug: Grid or not, that is one impressive, dense, city center. I like how you've mixed futuristic looking buildings along side very old structures - and I don't think they look out of place. Nice update. Hey SimCoug, thanks. I like to mix up the building styles because I imagine my city is open to the whole world. I also like a lot of old world buildings so I throw them in here and there as if my city bought them and imported them stone for stone. Maybe I should throw in a couple of American frontier/Western style buildings for you lol. Schulmanator: COOL! Nice mix of stuff gives it an uber cool effect! Thanks, there could be a bit more unity, but overall I agree. ggamgus: Great job! Why thank you! dubaidude303: Great work agian dude! Hey dude, thanks. Hazani Pratama: Wow,Nice! I appreciate your appreciation. LastTrueChamp: This city is popping with colour! Very vibrant. All the colors of the rainbow! (And boosted saturation in Photoshop, shhhhhsh) Fox: Once again you blow me away with your creativity .. and lol.. stargates Thanks Fox, glad you enjoyed it. Bold Purple! lesgaz: Waw impressive massive city I wanna live there Thanks lesgaz, we'll find a nice place for you to live. DanPeterson: Really nice. Can you tell me what the "Camille Paglia School For the Arts" building is? That would be the DEDWD Maddison Gallery City Builder 9111: You are a god of Sim City! Thanks. Not yet, but working on it. The Shape of Things to Come Okay, this entry is going to be a bit different from the others because I want to talk about where I see my city progressing and what kind of things I have in mind for it. I didn't start with a nice custom created region and I'm kind of making it up as a go along, so be easy on that aspect. When I first started my CJ, Ionica looked like this: Also, Ionica wasn't actually called Ionica, it was originally called Megatropolis, but I changed the name when I started my CJ because I don't think Megatropolis sounds so great, it was just a name I made up on the fly because I wasn't sure if the city would be a success or not. A few months ago I decided that I needed more space for bigger zones because in my original Region most of the tiles were very small and there were only three big ones. There were also many Zones that were quite amateur so I decided to ditch a lot of them and just keep the core of the city. This is what Ionica looks like now: As you can see Avalon is now actually in the center of the map and Veritas has been pushed to the far end. On the bottom left of the picture above you can see the University Campus I am currently working on. Originally I had a smallish campus in a Zone called Veritas but it was highly inadequate and I wanted something really vast and sprawling. I don't want to show it in detail yet but it is a beautiful combination of BATs, Parks, and MMPs. It is based around the University of Clayhurst which can be found here. On the bottom right there is the Ionican International Airport which is still a work in progress. There are still bits and pieces a need to collect to finish the puzzle, as well as a bit of trial and error. The idea is that the land the Airport is on will actually be an island but I haven't made the island yet because I don't know how big the Airport is going to be and it seems to get bigger and bigger. It probably isn't going to be ready for a while. The big tile above Qiu Chuji in the picture below is where I want to have the Ionican BAT Expo and Olympic/Simlympic Park. I don't intend to bid for the Simlympics this year, but I may some time in the future. This is a zone where I want to put some really big and beautiful BATs like the Biejing Grand National Theater, The Center for the Performing Arts by Xyloxadoria and the China Pavilion World Expo 2010 by dmscopio. As I go along I am rebuilding some of the Zones in the tiles that surround Avalon. Their biggest problem is that they don't make good use of the space. When I first started building cities I used Avenues like a madman and it just sucked out all the space. The Road and Rail layouts aren't optimal, so I have to re-do them. The first to be done was Illium which I showed in a previous entry. I just finished rebuilding Acropolis, and I'll show that in my next entry, I think. I intend to use a portion of the top right of the Region, which you can't really see in these pictures, to create a series of 'artificial' agricultural islands to be the bread baskets of Ionica and where I can use a lot of the rural BATs I have collected. As for the large tile on the top left, I intend to use it for a high class suburban type area where the dense city tappers off and all the rich people live in their huge homes. I have collected a lot of Mansion BATs but I haven't had a place to use them a lot yet. I also think the undeveloped bottom section of the region could serve as a kind of middle class suburb, we'll see. I know I want to have some less dense areas, I'm just not sure where they will be. Here are a few previews of the newest Zones I've built: If you look at the map above you will find the tiles these Zones are in right above Avalon. The seven small tiles from left to right, starting with Qiu Chuji, will be named after the Quanzhen Seven, the second generation of the Quanzhen Sect and disciples of the great reverend Wang Chongyang. Qiu Chuji Wang Chuyi Liu Chuxuan The beggining of a suburb? What's this? Thanks for visiting and commenting!

This PEG Utopia Series MOD changes the appearance of the Avenue Medians in and around Airport Zones.... which includes any lot that appears in your Airports menu. The Airport Zone is an another area that the original game designers intended to make use use of... but didn't. As a result, the game default avenues completely ignore it... and avenues running along these lots have empty medians with neither barriers or streetlights. This mod corrects all that with a special set of custom planters and streetlights designed specifically for Airports & other related lots. The distinctive planter & streetlight style will make it very easy to identify those areas that are influenced by your airport. At night, the streetlight has a subtle yellowish cast to it that further helps you identify your zones. This mod only affects the straight sections of avenues. By default, the game does not put any center barrier props on diagonal or curved sections of the avenues... and neither does this mod. It does not change any textures so it can be safely used with any other avenue mod you may use. Note: After installation, you will need to replop/drag the straight sections of your avenues in order to see the new avenue median props. Likewise, if the mod is uninstalled, you will need to replop/drag the avenues in cities where the mod was used. ** This file has no dependencies. This PEG Utopia Series MOD changes the appearance of the Avenue Medians in and around Seaport Zones.... which includes any lot that appears in your Water Transportation menu. The Seaport Zone is an area that the original game designers intended to make use use of... but didn't. As a result, the game default avenues completely ignore it... and avenues running along these lots have empty medians with neither barriers or streetlights. This mod corrects all that with a special set of custom planters and streetlights designed specifically for Seaports and other water related lots. And yes... this includes all the PEG-CDK & PEG-Seaport lots. The distinctive planter & streetlight style will make it very easy to identify those areas that are influenced by your seaport & coastal lots. At night, the streetlight has a subtle greenish cast to it that further helps you identify your zones. This PEG Utopia Series MOD changes the appearance of the Avenue Medians in Industrial areas of your cities. Just like the RES/COM Avenue Medians Mod, this Industrial version will provide a modern Utopian feel to your industrial areas. The mod was designed to enhance the PEG Utopia series of lots... but can be used by themselves in any city to give the shabby looking default avenues a sorely needed facelift. This mod only replaces the game-default props that are used on the straight sections of avenues. By default, the game does not put any center barrier props on diagonal or curved sections of the avenues... and neither does this mod. It does not change any textures so it can be safely used with any other avenue mod you may use. In contrast to the blue streetlights used in the RES/COM mod, this Industrial version uses the yellowish colored streetlights found in many real-world industrial areas. At zoom levels 3 & 4, this makes identifying the various zones of city much easier at night. Note: After installation, you will need to replop/drag the straight sections of your avenues in order to see the new avenue median props. Likewise, if the mod is uninstalled, you will need to replop/drag the avenues in cities where the mod was used. ** This file has no dependencies. This PEG Utopia Series MOD changes the appearance of the Avenue Medians in Residential and Commercial areas of your cities. The mod will give your avenues a sparkling new look that matches that wonderous new Utopian society you are building. They were designed to enhance the PEG Utopia series of lots... but can be used by themselves in any city to give the shabby looking default avenues a sorely needed facelift. This mod only replaces the game-default props that are used on the straight sections of avenues. By default, the game does not put any center barrier props on diagonal or curved sections of the avenues... and neither does this mod. It does not change any textures so it can be safely used with any other texture-based avenue mod you may use. The type of median planters that appear are based on the zone type. Coral colored planters will appear in Residential areas. Normal cement colored planters will show up in Commercial areas and & sections of avenue dominated by Civic and/or other ploppable lots. This mod uses several new custom props and light cone models that have been optimized to use a single small image instead of the normal 20 or more. The illuminated tree you will see at night, for instance... is actually a custom light cone model that uses just one single rendered image. Note: After installation, you will need to replop/drag the straight sections of your avenues in order to see the new avenue median props. Likewise, if the mod is uninstalled, you will need to replop/drag the avenues in cities where the mod was used. ** This file has no dependencies. 8. PEG UT Mall Canal End

    Version 1

    11,779 Downloads

This PEG Utopia Series End section will allow you to finally stop. No more running off to infinity... or endless looping around like a game of Tron from Hell. You can now have closure with your canals. The lot is similar in all regards to the 3x3 Small Mall Canal lots... except that it has a few less jobs. This Small Mall Canal is also a subterranean shopping mall. Its a CS$$$ ploppable lot... with jobs... and the YIMBY effects of a small plaza that will help spur nearby commercial development. This lot also helps boost your Mayor Approval Rating to a small degree. The Mall Canals are extensively night lighted... and they are Christmas Enabled with colored lights and decorations that will appear only during the Holiday season. (game time) The Mall Canals also have custom queries that use random query sound effects... playing 1 of 5 different real-world mall recordings each time a lot is queried. ** This lot requires the PEG-UT Mall Canal Resource Pack. This lot also helps boost your Mayor Approval Rating to a small degree. * The basic depth of all UT Mall Canal lots is 3 tiles. They are designed to be modular... and can be connected directly together or separated by roads, avenues, rail... etc... or any other appropriate lot. As the canals run visually underground, you can actually have any amount of distance between them. The Mall Canals are extensively night lighted... and they are Christmas Enabled with colored lights and decorations that will appear only during the Holiday season. This PEG Utopia Series lot is a slightly smaller version of the UT Mall Canal. At only 4 tiles wide, it is ideal for cities locked in to a smaller grid size than the larger 6 tile wide version can accommodate. This Medium Mall Canal is also a subterranean shopping mall. Its a CS$$$ ploppable lot... with jobs... and the YIMBY effects of a small plaza that will help spur nearby commercial development. This lot also helps boost your Mayor Approval Rating to a small degree. As this lot is 2/3rds the size of the original version, all of its properties ( jobs, costs, resource usage, pollution, etc.. ) have been reduced by 1/3rd. The basic depth of all UT Mall Canal lots is 3 tiles. They are designed to be modular... and can be connected directly together or separated by roads, avenues, rail... etc... or any other appropriate lot. This PEG Utopia Series is similar in size (3x1) and style to the Mall Canal Plaza lot and can be used as a similar "end-cap" or extender piece. But as the name implies, it is a functional Bus Stop with the same costs and properties of a normal bus stop. The lot also features a large Mall Canal sign and elevator access to the mall & canal below. Obviously, the lot was intended for use with the Utopia Mall Canals... but could be used by itself. However, if you put up a big, honking Mall Canal sign, you'd probably better also put a big, honking Mall Canal behind it somewhere. You wouldn't want your Sims thinking you'd cheaped out on the rest of the mall, now would you? * The lot will appear in your Misc. Transportation Menu along with the normal Bus Stop lot. ** This lot requires the PEG-UT Mall Canal Resource Pack. This PEG Utopia Series Plaza is designed for use with the UT Mall Canals. Being the same depth as the canal lots (3 tiles), it blends in perfectly with all other lots in the series. The plaza is 1 tile wide and can be used as an "end cap" or filler to add more flexibility in matching the canals to a city's existing grid size. The lot features a large sign and escalator access to the mall & canals below. The lot has the same values, cost & resource usage of a small plaza. Like all other Mall Canal lots, this plaza will appear only in the Landmark menu. ** This lot requires the PEG-UT Mall Canal Resource Pack. This PEG Utopia Series lot is the smallest version of the UT Mall Canal. At only 3 tiles wide, it will fit in just about any city grid pattern. Used with the Mall Canal Plaza or Bus Stop, it can be stretched in a variety of ways to any block size. Like the other Mall Canal lots, this Small Mall Canal is a subterranean shopping mall. Its a CS$$$ ploppable lot... with jobs... and the YIMBY effects of a small plaza that will help spur nearby commercial development. This lot also helps boost your Mayor Approval Rating to a small degree. As this lot is half the size of the original version, all of its properties ( jobs, costs, resource usage, pollution, etc.. ) have been reduced by approx. 1/2. It's plaza effects have also been reduced to about 1/2 of those of a small plaza.. The basic depth of all UT Mall Canal lots is 3 tiles. They are designed to be modular... and can be connected directly together or separated by roads, avenues, rail... etc... or any other appropriate lot. This PEG Utopia Series lot is the first of a new collection of modern, urban canals that can be used in any city. Taking the classic canal to the extreme, we've gone underground to conserve valuable real estate... and wrapped a massive, sprawling, inter-connecting mall around the whole thing. This initial UT Mall Canal is a large, 6 tile wide subterranean shopping mall. Its a CS$$$ ploppable lot... with jobs... and the YIMBY effects of a medium plaza that will help spur nearby commercial development. These lots are very popular with your Sims... and your Mayor Approval Rating will reflect that. The basic depth of all UT Mall Canal lots is 3 tiles. They are designed to be modular... and can be connected directly together or separated by roads, avenues, rail... etc... or any other appropriate lot. As the canals run visually underground, you can actually have any amount of distance between them. Ideally, this will be the only dependency file required for the entire series of lots. * Version 1.01 ** This file has no dependencies. All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here.

This is a small mod that converts the PEG-UT Plasma Gasification Plant into a direct replacement for the game-default Waste-to-Energy Plant. This package contains a small file that will be added to your default PEG-UT Plasma Gasification Plant folder. Once installed, the game-default Waste2Energy plant will be replaced in your Sanitation Utilities menu. After installation, remove the existing PEG-UT_PlasmaPlant_101.dat file. Do not remove the RESOURCE file. Note - This mod does not directly replace any in-game occurances of Waste2Energy plant.... and the Plasma Gasification Plant is slighter larger. Any existing occurances of the older Waste2Energy plant & the Plasma Gasification plant will need to be bulldozed and replopped. ** This mod requires that the PEG-UT Plasma Gasification Plant be installed. All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here.
  24. PEG Artificial Tree

    Version 1

Suggested by our own Sfoz and based on the proposed concept of Dr. Klaus Lacknerof Columbia University, the Artificial Tree has come to SimCity. The concept is simple. As the wind blows through the artificial tree, carbon from the air is trapped on specially treated louvered plates. The wind then exits the rear of the tree... minus all that nasty carbon that keeps mucking up our air. In reality, this is still an "on paper" only concept. However, it is estimated that a mere 250,000 of these "trees" placed in strategic locations globally could eliminate the alleged threat of global warming caused by the increasing carbon content in our atmosphere. There are many details still to be worked out... like what to do with the billions of tons of carbon that would be collected each year. But its close enough now for our Utopian Goals in SimCity. We took the liberty of finishing up the design by adding a water maintenance & collection system, an electronics package for monitoring the status of the tree & triggering maintenance cycles, and adding communications to allow the tree to broadcast data back to a central station and to receive broadcasted commands. All of it, powered by a small photolytic cell atop one of the masts. Although definitely a Utility in nature, it does not properly fit into any existing category of the game. Its is therefore technically a Landmark... but a truly functional one. Each Artificial Tree is rated at 50 TP (tree power) at the center... falling off to 8 TP at the edge of the 8-tile effect radius. In other words, a single artificial tree cleans as much air pollution as 50 Mayor Mode trees...but over a much larger area than the 2-3 tile effect of a normal tree. At §4,200 a pop, they a'int cheap. But the monthly maintenance is only only §250 and it doesn't normally take very many to clean up an entire city. Placed near major air polluters like heavy industry and power plants, one or two trees can keep the air around a fairly large area clean & pristine. * The trees use no external power but do require a small amount of water for collecting the carbon. Each tree also ups your Mayoral Rating to a small, fairly local degree. ** This lot has no dependencies. 25. PEG SF SKY FARM V

    Version 1

This Type 5 SkyFarm adds the VERTICAL to VERTICAL farming. We go up... not out... with the ultimate space saving design. Using the smaller base and modular design of the Type 4 SkyFarm, we "rack 'em and stack 'em" into this much taller vertical farm. And keeping with the space-saver concept, the ploppable version of thisSkyFarm is also a CDK3 (Coastal Development Kit) lot... designed to be plopped out over the water. It blends well with other CDK3 lots... but can be used by itself and does not requirethe PEG CDK3 to be installed. As with all SkyFarms, this version is almost fully self-contained and uses very little external water or power. Each instance of the lot, either ploppable or growable, reduces water pollution slightly as it filters local sewage (black) water into gray water for irrigation. The Type 5's extra capacity also results in a slight air pollution reduction as external air if filtered for internal use. Internal power is generated by wind turbines and steam turbines fueled by Fuel-Pellets created from the left-over flora after harvests and other local bio-garbage. Although definately agricultural in nature, SkyFarms can be located anywhere. As well as being modern & efficient replacements for conventional farms, their original mission, of course, is to be located directly within urban centers as industrial high-tech & manufacturing facilities... andas commercial service ventures. Accordingly, the RCI growbale versions of the Type 5 SkyFarm include 2 I-R lots, 1 I-HT lot, a CS$$ & a CS$$$ lot. All lots are included as seperate files so you can easily remove any you do not wish to use in your game. ** This lot requires the PEG-SF SkyFarm Resource file There are no other dependencies. All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here.
