Here's a quick list of current releases so you don't have to scroll through the thread to find them all: North American Freight Sidings Llama Terminal Company SABER LA River Troy Gasholder Building FAB Diagonal Industrials Lowrider Props In-N-Out Lowrider Show Old Time Power Plants - jestarr Boilerhouses --- North American Freight Sidings original first post: Inspired by the lack of existing lots representing protypical North American freight railroad sidings, I've created a system of lots that can be used to create eye-candy rail sidings. They are transit-enabled for appearance. I have been encouraged to share my progress in a dedicated thread by helpful feedback in the Show Us Your Railroads general thread, especially from SimCoug, T-Wrecks, raynev1. And the whole thing wouldn't exist without the Jestarr props. Features: 18 ploppable lots for different railcar types on double track rail Transit enabled connections to make the lots fit in seamlessly anywhere Three prop families to provide a variety from Jestarr's boxcars, intermodal and general merchandise freight ("Junkers") RRW compatibility Known issues: Transparent texture bug as described here http://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/42425-transparent-texture-issue/ The lots need custom icons created and added, through Reader as described here: http://www.wiki.sc4devotion.com/index.php?title=Tutorial:Inserting_a_custom_menu_icon_with_the_Ilive_Reader Future development ideas: Single Track Rail lots don't match exactly when using textures extracted from the RAM .dat, and I probably need permission to use them separately in any case. So, STR sidings may be a separate release at some point. Four-track lots would be prototypical for large yard trackage, but don't exist in RRW. Custom textures might allow some eye-candy four-track lots in future, this would resemble an updated subset of NCD.   2. Issue with Texture making

    Hi everybody! Recently I've started making my first custom textures, and I ran into a little issue. So I need a little help/advice what the mistake is what I made.My first few textures are appearing nicely and in the intended order in the LE and PIM-X too, but ingame only the first texture from the pack is appering. I attached 2 pictures, the first one is a compare picture between the PIM-X and INGAME. The 2nd picture shows what I see in the SC4 Tool, where I created the pack.Thanks for any help in advance!- Tyberius
  3. Hm - I just started to create farms for the first time and running into a couple of issues I don't understand. 1. I made a farm field. The ground texture changes on this farm field seasonally. O.k. - but why? How do I control this - I have only one texture on the lot, from where comes the other? 2. I made some custom farms. They grow and then, after a while a second one grows in midst of the plantation: Like on the upper right farm - the left one is the farm, and then grew a second one right to it in the middle of the plants. Same on the bottom right - there grew a second farm on the south end in the middle of the plants. Any hints what I'm doing wrong?
  4. Hope I got this in the right place. This is a problem it seems Pim-X LE isn't saving my preferences. It was but hasn't been in a while. I keep adding stuff to my preferences but hasn't been saving them in a while now. I doubt there is a cap because I only have maybe about 20 in each category. I get no errors, and it acts like it's adding them but as soon as I quit and go back in they're gone. As you might guess this isn't causing a major problem, but it is becoming a pain in the rear gear. Any thoughts?
  5. I've looked everywhere in the manual, I know there is a way to make a bigger lot then 6x6 just don't know how. Maxis LE only allows 6x6. So I figure Pim-X probable will do it.
  6. Hey, me again! Does anybody know of a turorial for making functional rewards using PIM-X, I understand that it can only give you a template and you need to use the Reader for the scripts. I found a couple of tutorials but this one seems to be outdated (please correct me if I'm wrong), and the other one is for replacing Maxis rewards, which I don't want to do. Thanks a lot!
  7. Hi. I've found where the street textures and road textures are kept in SimCity_3.dat They are fsh files. It should be read by the Lot Editor. However, it's not being found by the lot editor. Thus, the base/overlay textures of the streets and roads do not appear in the lot editor. Any ideas on how to fix this... perhaps with a plugin or something? My game is kept in "C:/Program Files (x86)/Maxis/Sim City 4 Deluxe" I'm using windows 10 I thought that if I export the textures into PNG format, and then re-implement them into the game, then they would be read. But I have no clue as to how to do this. I think there is another lot editor, but I can't find it. It's called LE-X
  8. I have a question about each of these programs. I've used SC4Tool quite a bit but haven't used it in a while and since I've yet to learn PIM-X's complicated controls I've only used it for a few things. However, today I've run into a problem with both of them. In SC4Tool's texture creator the program is not giving me my personal ID range. I've used it before to make textures (I've deleted all but one of them) but I have no idea what to do to make it work properly now. I've only used the first ID in my range (0xF8800000 to 0xF883FFFF). The range it incorrectly says is mine is 0xFC782DA0 to 0xFC783188. What do I do? In PIM-X it's pretty straight forward. When I open its LE the "LE Tools" window never pops up. It used to but it doesn't anymore. I've used it before to find what dat texture files were in and I wanted to do that again but now I can't. I also want to learn how to use PIM-X since it's supposedly better than the Maxis LE but this another turnoff. Any help with either of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

    Releasing these as I complete them for those still using CAM 1.0 or wish to upgrade maxis building content while I complete the next increment of CAM. Use BSC Maxis blockers to block all Maxis R$ buildings while using this pack. This is every R$ building and lot from Maxis run through PIM-X. I separated the family chain so each building and lot could be run through PIM-X accurately. No building stage has been skewed to allow for common building family stages. Every lot has its own IID now. Maxis blockers will not interfere with the content and the content will no longer interfere with custom buildings using Maxis IID's. Do use BSC Maxis blockers for R$ or these will grow alongside the original maxis or CAM 1.0 buildings without replacing them. If you have enough custom content, the files are named according to the building queries. If you do not wish to have them in your city, simply delete the file while the BSC Maxis blockers are still in place. They will no longer grow. The buildings in the Main image are using these files with the building Plop. As can be seen, the lots are exactly the same. There is no readme in this package. Install is simple, be sure they are in your plugins folder. Install BSC Maxis Blockers for R$ like normal (Making sure they load after CAM). Future CAM versions will automatically include the Blockers and these files.

So I recently made a lot that was a park (The only way I could make it large enough), I wanted to convert it from the park to an Industrial Plop, and was told to try out PIM-X, but when I did it said I was missing a .dll and that .dll file was freaking out my anti-virus. For some reason it won't let me allow the file either. SO I am asking you guys at Simtropolis if you know an alternative to PIM-X that will allow me to change lot types from Park to Ploppable Industry.
  11. Hey All Again, OK this one is not a serious problem but I would like to know were I screwed up. I have included a screen shot of the dependency list of my lot. As you can see it says I have missing stuff. I'll assume at this point it's those two sound files that are unchecked. The lot shows up in the game fine, no brown boxes so I don't think this is a deal breaker for me. But would like to know what I did wrong. I went back to the gmax file and checked around couldn't find anything in there about sounds. But maybe there, but if so I don't know where. I can't figure out what it could be so I thought someone here might know. Just in case this is a file called welcomesign by McDrye here on Simtrop. The file is also here. Any thoughts??? Robdragon
