  7. Version 1.0.0

These ancient ruins were made by someone deep in the well of time. There are many speculations as to its function, some say that human sacrifice were made within its stony walls and others say that it is an astronomical tool built to follow the stars. Today it stands there, solitary and well maintained by the current city staff, while traffic from a bustling metropolis moves by it. Sometimes people that identify with the ancients, conduct ceremonies there. Generations go by and the stones just sit there, unchanged, immutable and immortal. This Roundabout will replace the one that comes with the NAM avenue, just bulldoze the fountain in the middle and plop this and you are done. It will provide a small residential CAP relief. Requires no power, just a little water to keep the grass green. And its good for the environment due to the park effect. All you need is in this little package and one dependency and that is... 9. Paeng's Parks Revisited

    Version 2.05

This park system combines three updated versions of previous park sets - Monument Park, Urban Gardens and White Sands Park. Mainly I wanted to create the possibility to lay out a good variety of parks, paths and gardens for any type of city - particularly with options for different path textures to be used on the same city tile. You can now have three very distinct park-styles in your city, each with its own character (layout, props, textures) - and you can mix and mingle them any which way you please... and even exchange or unify textures as you desire. This will enable you to use the paths, prefab parks, ends, transitions, addons and extensions of all three park sets in one glorious citywide park system. OVERVIEW * Three complete parksystems, each with a unique style, textures, props and individual pieces * A host of possible configurations - Narrow, Wide, Diagonal, Sweeping Curves, Ends, prefab Parks and more * New park 'Sidings' for realistic-looking transitions to your roads and avenues * Transitions between textures and/or sidewalks that can adapt to your preferred sidewalk textures and mods * The ability to exchange or unify the base textures on the fly to suit your taste * The option to mix and mingle sections of all three sets any which way you want * All items designed to create extended lawns to be enhanced with MMP flora of your choice * All items with consistent properties, descriptions and plop helpers, tightly arranged in your menus * A host of overlay textures and custom props to make your own matching lots * Peace of mind that future sets and addons will be made to match all of the above Please note that there is a more in-depth Online Documentation with lots of additional info and many images available as well. DEPENDENCIES * Paeng Texture Pack v103 (updated version Sep 2011!) * Murimk Props 02, v201 (updated version Sep 2011!) * BSC MEGA Props - SG Vol01 * BSCBATPropsMattb325 Vol02 * BSC MEGA Props - MJB Vol02 * BSC MEGA Props - swi21 Vol01 * BSC MEGA Props - D66 Vol02 * Porkie Props Vol 01 and Vol 02 * SPOT (Orientation Helpers) DEVELOPER NOTES The aim of this overhaul is to 'streamline' the park packs as far as dependencies, general layout and possible variations are concerned. The layout and appearance of the sets have been maintained as much as possible. Most of the pieces - including the new 'Sidings' - are layed out to give you nice spaces of well-groomed lawn that you can plant with your own choice of flora - bushes, shrubs, flowers and trees from your personal MMP collections. If you don't want to use any of the sidings, you can safely delete the respective subfile(s). If you want to exchange or unify any of the base textures, make sure to carefully read the separate instructions included with the 'Texture Changer 205' module (included, but packed separately). SUPPORT Should you need support for these items please visit the Online Documentation and/or the Support Thread THANK YOU Special thanks go to the NightOwls Murimk and Shokthrpy for creating special custom props, adding to the unique appearance and feeling of these parks. Thanks also to Krio - his Kiosks continue to serve all park-visiting Sims :-) CREDITS for RESOURCE FILE This is a community effort with many friends chipping in - Thanks for that again! BAT - custom 'Park Props' by Murimk & Shokthrpy BAT - 'Kiosks' by Krio All Textures - by Paeng All parts are included with their creator's kind permission. You may use them for your own lots, but please do not include them in your upload. Kindly point to this pack as a dependency. Enjoy! Mod edit 29th April 2017 - Fixed formatting + dependency links

  11. Parks in Bellingham:Parque Iguaçu

This is the new park from Bellingham, Iguaçu Park. This will be the first of the series of entries that I'll call Parks in Bellingham. With the park, there's lots of options of entertainment, like the auditorium: Or the library, with it's futuristic design and the museum: Or an Obelisk: (Another neat open shot because, why not?) 13. San Foca 2.0

San Foca 2.0 After a long break and Besides trying to recover data of cities after my hard drive died I recreated a more modern and realistic version of San Foca. I posted in the forum of AIN several images in the new version of San Foca and generally to Siculia even if you are currently the accomplishment of some cities in Cities Skylines. But now let's see San Foca. Here is the old part of town with a nice high speed railway train station A canal in the city centre The industrial zone of San Foca This is the national monument of the fallen for the fatherland We move in the main street where there is a high speed train station An area where citizens of San Foca live in peacefulness A piece of the Ain Nations embassies The autobahn in San Foca The Sun is setting and the light at night will light up. This scene seems catchy with this music And while the electric lights replace the sunlight here is the autobhan at night The Federal Parliament during thenight The President's House and the Palace of ministries San Foca and the sea Another area where there are embassies with a high speed rail terminal During the night the city becomes magnificent Here is the highway with its tunnel that divides the old with the modern part with its skyscrapers Finally we give a small insight in the financial district of San Foca And with this news bomb, is now closing! See you next article. COMMENT REPLIES: VIGATA kschmidt: Thank you very much. Aleister: I was experiencing the saturation of the colors are in the right path but there is much work to be done. korver: Thank you sunda: Thank you very much Takingyouthere: Thanks for the comment. To get that result, I had to struggle with the effects of photoshop.
  14. Parks in Bellingham: Costa Verde

Hello, welcome to the second entry: The entry will be huge, because I'll speak of the greatest park in the region, we have 9km of park (5.6mi if you use the imperial unit) They're divided in 3 fully connected parks: -Parque do Canal: Aterro: Ferry terminal in the right side, in the bottom: Integration with metro system. You can see Historical Museum in the left top too. (There's another subway connection here too) And Praça da Bandeira: There were studies for the implementation of a beach in Praça da Bandeira, but the proximity to the port killed the project. By the way, this is the reason why it's called Praça da Bandeira: There's a lot of flags of friendly countries and associations But sims use it very well. There's a lot of gazebos and park benches like this one, where sims can relax and think about life: Aterro: This is the biggest part of the park. Where the park divides it's space with Jayme Costa parkway, popularly known as Costa Verde Parkway. It's know that way because there was no land here in the beginning of the history: It was created with a severe number of landfills (this is what means aterro in the language that the city adopts, the Portuguese). With the new high speed corridor, solutions were also implemented to not permit that the expressway cut the park in half where it needed. pedestrian walks and even the sidewalk of the tunnel are used for making the walk of the pedestrians safe. recreational stuff right after a footbridge There's a lot of park accesses if there's need to create expressways. WIth the ease of the parkway, a lot of facilities moved towards to it. The Parliament and the bus terminal are just two of them. One of the biggest residential buildings in the world was constructed in the "parkfront" Near it, the other buildings look like dwarfs You can see the "to-implement" acess from Thomas Edinson Avenue to the parkway: I leave you with the two most important interchanges of the parkway. The first is named terminal. In the second image, you can see Trumpetstack. This park was inspired by Aterro do Flamengo, in Rio de Janeiro: https://www.google.com.br/maps/@-22.9276923,-43.1623716,1324a,35y,293.03h,37.44t/data=!3m1!1e3 @Dgmc2013 Thank you for your kind comment. It feels like is organized because it uses a technique that I'll explain later, called TOD. @MissVanleider Yes, I always have that feeling too. The other reason for having 2 lanes is because it's a very important node in the city.
  15. While everyone is trying to reduce problems with traffic in the city, such as traffic jams, large car queues and such. I'm going in the other direction. I want to see the streets of my city clogged with cars, lots of cars To try to solve the problems consequent of this greater flow. I have the MAN 35, but I do not know how to use the Traffic Controller that comes along. I also have CAM. Someone has a tip that works. No mod that increases RCI demand (unrealistic).

  19. STEX 20K File Quantum Dish SC4 Lot

    Version 3.0

This is my contribution to the STEX 20K file mark. Its just a simple landmark file of the Maxis Quantum Dish. Plop it in appreciation of all the files that came before. EDIT: JUST VERIFIED. STEX Files 20,000 Yiiiiiiiiiihaaaaaa!!!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This download now has 3 versions of the Quantum Dish. The original is the 1x1 Landmark found at the top of the LM menu. The LM is a functional industrial lot (stats below). The 2nd version is a 1x1 (non-functional) Park found in the Parks Menu. The Park lot can be used to place anywhere on a map without needing road and power connections and will not dilapidate. The LM and Park lots are identical but can be differentiated by clicking on the lot with the query tool. The stats for the 1x1 Park lot are the same as for the Open Grass Area park with light park effect and negligible pollution. On the morning of February 10, 2017 I noticed the counter was at 19,999 and I had been working on making a functional landmark from the Maxis Quantum Dish. I quickly threw together a zip-file to upload so I could claim the fame of having the 20,000th upload to the STEX. I've further developed this download, adding 2 more Quantum Dish lots and a Simtropolis lamp-post sign. The 13x2 Simtropolis Lamp-post sign is a hand-printed souvenir for fans and colleagues of Simtropolis. It is found in the Parks menu. Quantum Dish 3x3 Network Roundabout This lot is lavishly gardened and lit with lamps. Each side of the lot is connected to the street network so cars will pass through and drive around the roundabout. The street overlay textures are included in the folder with the lot. These may be used in other lots but references to the textures should be maintained to prevent duplicate loading of the textures. If another lot uses the textures a message should be included instructing to delete multiples of the same .dat file. . 20. City Tour

This is a quick tour of the city's most notable attractions and neighborhoods. I'll show more in future, more specific installments. This is the New England State House. Built in 1800, it is the fifth building to serve as state house. The city government hoped that it would become a center of downtown life; however, it is rarely visited by anyone other than state employees (although there are plenty of them). Camsden Hall, built in 1743, is the oldest surviving building in Alexandria. Originally a meeting place, the hall and the surrounding square is now a public market and events place. While most of Alexandria's historic buildings have been demolished, several blocks nearby were preserved with the establishment of the Camsden Square Historic District. Additionally, the Downtown Historic District prohibits the building of any buildings over 300 feet in the southern area of downtown Alexandria. Camsden Square is commonly used to refer to the southeastern area of downtown, Alexandria's premier shopping and nightlife district. Alexandria City Hall and the Alexandria Museum of Modern Art are located in the area. Here we have the Central Financial District. It's one of the city's chief employment centers, and most of the banks with offices in Alexandria were located in this area, with the Bank of America being the notable exception. Since the collapse of Alexandria's banking industry in the mid-1980s, the offices have been divided between many different businesses; the companies currently occupying the most office space are Bazynga, Cloudline, and Tribune, in their namesake buildings. Despite the area's notability, not a single building over 300 feet has been built since 1994. The city government is hoping to encourage more construction in the district to pull the city out of its recession; however, transportation in the district is busy: Convention Center is the busiest station in the M system, with 3 lines running through. The city is looking for ways to provide relief, as trains running toward the station are often at capacity. The Eastern Financial District has been a bustling employment and entertainment district since the early 1990s, when the internet companies began moving into the city. The Great American Insurance Group was located in this area until 1989, and Bank of America's world headquarters was in this area, occupying Alexandria's tallest building until 1984. In addition, the Alexandria Trojans play at Costco Field, in the center of the district. The Kings Street M station was designed as a defining feature of the area, and its design has influenced several nearby buildings. Sometimes called the "Brooklyn of Alexandria", Acton Park is a former industrial area that has been transformed into the city's newest neighborhood. In an effort to transition away from manufacturing, the City of Alexandria purchased the large Acton Industrial Estate in 1979 with the intention to turn it into a mixed-use neighborhood. The city built new schools, parks, roadways, apartments and offices and extended the M's Red Line in order to create a vibrant community. Acton Park has, on average, the youngest residents out of every defined neighborhood, in large part due to its proximity to downtown and mixed-use development.
  21. Maxis Renewal - Parks and Recreation

    Version 1.1.0

In this first* installment of the Maxis renewal series, most of the basic Maxis parks, as well as some related rewards, have been re-lotted. Changes include general lot redecoration: most trees replaced with CP's seasonal and semiseasonal variants, sidewalk textures replaced with CP's SCILT textures and the green park's base replaced to match the open grass area, among other things. Lots overriden: Green parks, flower gardens, plazas, sportsfields, beach, minor and major league stadium facelift, mayor statues, farmer's market. Optional standalone lots included: koi pond garden, fenced sportfields, beach promenade extensions. Please consider a donation today.

We need to continue to raise enough money each month to pay for expenses which includes hardware, bandwidth, software licenses, support licenses and other necessary 3rd party costs.

By way of a "Thank You" gift, we'd like to send you our STEX Collector's DVD. It's some of the best buildings, lots, maps and mods collected for you over the years. Check out the STEX Collections for more info.

Each donation goes to help us keep the site running free.
