  1. Overview

I wanted to post a bit of an overview of my city (very much under construction of course), to give a taste of where I hope this journal can go. Below I have included a "starter set" of overview images, complete with a Cimtographer OSM map. As I mentioned, much of the city is incomplete. There are massive sections that do not yet exist in any way (such as an international airport, country club, solar array, and lots and lots more suburbs, complete with functioning puiblic transit), and those sections that do are in various stages of completion, with most of it needing more refinements and detailing. That being said, here's a few overview shots of the city as a whole. Enjoy! Overview of the Business district, Capitol hill, and shore-line apartments. University is to the right, Highway 10 to the left, and the central park + new developments at the top. The central park and newer city center, from above. Older apartments around the original park on the left mix with with newer construction to the right. The main road bisects the two (disregard the Opera House just off camera to the right, as it is simply a placeholder for a proper asset). The sunken highway runs across the top of the image. The central park of the city, looking north. An older cathedral sits just off of the park, amongst the much newer apartment buildings. The office district, south of central park. The rear of Capitol Hill sits on the left of the image. The newly-minted university, situated in a small space between the main highway (Highway 10) over the mountain pass and the shore of the lake. An old lighthouse sits on a rocky outcropping to the right (yes, it's a lake, so no, there are no large ships. Just roll with it). The Central Transit Station, located just behind the university (you can see it in the background of the photo above). With the launch of the Metro Overhaul Mod, I've been in the process of rebuilding my transit system from scratch. This older station sill services the old tracking, but will soon be updated to house the newer metro system. Because having two systems necessitates multiple points of transit between inter-city rail and the local metro, this station will become one of two transit hubs, the other located on the west end of the city. Also, don't mind the wobbly highway to the left. That's getting rebuilt too (I built that before I had the newer version of Road Anarchy as well as Move It! installed). Business Ave, running east from Capitol Hill (this shot looks west towards the Capitol). An athletic field from the university is just visible in the lower right of the shot. Rt. 101 (the offshoot from Highway 10 that cuts around the north shore of the lake. Will eventually be the main route to the airport, once I build that). The sunken highway was done to try and keep views open across the route, but the larger apartments still block much of the shoreline from the western suburb here. The center of the shot features the newly minted Inter-Transit Station West (or IT West by the locals), serving as a transit point between the inter-city rail and the local metro system. Due to the release of the Metro Overhaul Mod, massive infrastructure changes are needed to introduce the system completely, although doing so will also allow for the city to introduce it's first subway system, something that has been sorely needed to alleviate traffic in the center of town. This station here represents the first step in this process. The beginning of northern suburbs. Because of the transit system running to the left of Rt. 101, a more "experimental" entrance/exit system was required (thanks to the Move It! mod for making this possible). The International Airport is planned to sit in the space at the top of the image, along the edge of the lake. With MOM now being a thing, I can finally have over-road metro systems, and I am loving it. Looks gritty and haphazard, and I love it. Overview of the brunt of the city, with spaghetti junction in the lower left. The newer suburbs to the south. Some future planning is visible off to the left. The city from atop Shelnutt Park, a federally owned and protected park just outside of the city. A nice get-away for the city's residents. A (slightly outdated) Cimtographer OSM export, showing most of the city. For some reason the lake itself did not export, but it should be clear where it is (the large gap at the top). Cheers, Augwich

PEG MTP City Portal By Pegasus Now available for the MTP, this Alpine-styled City Portal/Gate will really bring the feel of the mountains to your MTP enhanced communities. Every mountain community needs a landmark to grace the postcards in their gifts shops. Here's yours!! Merry Christmas... And speaking of Christmas, this lot is "ChristmasEnabled". The lot appears normally throughout the year, but in December (game time), Christmas lights appear and the trees in the median are decorated and lit. The lot is transit-enabled for avenues and will plop right over an existing avenue or can be manually connected. All road traffic (cars. peds, trucks, buses, Santa's Sleigh, etc) can pass through the portal. The lot is a 4x3 Landmark and is located near the top of your Landmarks menu. It is also a Tourist Trap and will help promote tourism in your city. * This model was modified and re-textured from the Portico de Gramada lot created for the SimCity Brasil fan site. It is a replica of an actual small landmark in Brazil. Dependencies: PEG MTP Super Pack PEG Christmas Development Kit All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here.

  4. REPLIES _____________________________________________________ Simcoug: Thanks! You'd think that, but I have poorest plugin folder building skill. I've never really gotten to sort my Plugins files and now its a mess that can never be properly sorted out dubaidude303: Thanks! Forthwall: Thanks Shub Hazani Pratama: Thanks! Evillions: Thanks a lot! I'd put in SimMars buildings on this but I haven't had a chance to install them in cause they don't seem to appear (I get brown boxes) TekindusT: Too kind Tekindus Thanks! newyorka: I did use quite a bit of plopping (and lotting ). The buildings on Horizon are on the STEX. They're pretty easy to find. Most of them are by Kellydale, the Lippo Center made by the HKBAT team as well as the Hong Kong Commerce Center building (I think that's the name). 10000000000000: Haha, thanks ggamgus: Thanks a lot weixc812: Thanks so much, means a lot coming from a very talented CJer/MD KonstantinII: Oh, it'll be interesting to see what you come up with in your future based CJ And I don know that set, but haven't had the best chance at installing it cause the props don't seem to show up properly; and the distances being in kilometers was just me being really lazy Jesus Christ: Thank you very much my lord Fox: Such kind words, thanks a lot Fox WELCOME AGAIN! _____________________________________________________ Well, I guess I lied that there was going to more about Horizon, but of course the planet's other colonies and rural stations have something to offer as well. Which brings us to the privatized research platform with three names; the Hanvhar Plateau Station (HPS), Hanvhar North Station (HNS) or Solidarity Station. The station is located north of the Hanvhar colony and south-west of the capital, Horizon. This particular station operates outside of the radar of Hanvhar and Horizon government authorities. Laws set for these colonies do not apply in the Plateau region where land has been restricted to access by Station employees, officials and associates. Despite it's name, Hanvhar colonial government have no interactions with the station with the exception of maintained communication (base communication does not release any information on its actvities) which is essential for all colonies and bases on Ferust. But of course, many rogue settlements still sit isolated from this chain of communication and remain totally invisible to higher authorities. The only information colonial governments have obtained about Solidarity is that the station employs biological research which is used by an unknown source company which funds the research and testing that is performed in Solidarity Station. There are other facilities surrounding Solidarity, and the proximities of these platforms suggest they're interconneceted by subterranean tunnel systems. One facility outside of Solidarity, which is located south from the base and across a river is particularly referred to as Mast-One, a name obtained from past communication interception. Accessing the remote and isolated Solidarity Station can only be done by flying to the station as there are no known access routes by ground transport. This explains the reason for each main facility to have a hangar area to access the station. WARNING: TWO MASSIVE MOSAICS AHEAD approx. 1024 x 8600 px. each During the evening, the stations seem fairly quiet with no odd occurances. The most significant phenomenon sighted in this area was an increasingly bright blue light eminating from Mast-One. Other reports from wandering intruders originating from Horizon, Hanvhar, Endeavor and Parthense have not been proven to be true and stealth surveillance over the area give colony government's and other planetary system government's; particularly Earth, insight on the activities of Solidarity. Discounting the previous statements, Solidarity poses some interest to governments but is essentially no different to other research platforms. By morning, the situation on Solidarity barely changes. Activity outside is low, nothing more than passing transport vehicles and employed scientists walking from facility to facility. Unfortunately, it's quiet status though is becoming a growing concern for the colony governments of the neighboring Hanvhar and Horizon. Thanks for viewing Rate and Comment ! ________________________________________________________
  5. Glacier Peak, Washington

Glacier Peak, Washington, USA a map by: blunder ------------- Installation: This map is in .sc4m format and requires either Terraformer or Mapper to import. 1. Navigate to your Documents/SimCity 4/Regions folder and create a new folder with your desired region name 2. Copy+paste the config.bmp file into the folder you just created. 3. Open SC4TF, open the new region, import the .sc4m file, save and quit. 4. You must open and save each tile for it to display your terrain mod instead of the terraformer/mapper elevation color overlay. ------------- Description: Glacier Peak is the remotest of Washington's dormant volcanoes. It might appear tall, but it is short for a cascadia volcano because it is built on top of an existing ridgeline. For such a small volcano it has a violent history, launching ash clouds that have traveled far east and lahars that have reached puget sound. The last eruption, a few hundred years ago, was witnessed and remembered by local natives. Over its centuries of sleep about a dozen glaciers have built up on it giving it the name Glacier Peak. This map is 40km x 36km and made from satellite data. Whereas most of my maps i try to be accurate, this one i've manipulated a bit. Using the compress tool in terraformer i've taken all of the valleys below a certain elevation and squished them down to create building space that isn't naturally there. This should give the map an Alps feel. Also lowered the map 400m to give a better snowline with Gobias' and Lowkee's terrain mods. Map made using satellite data, image editing software, and drunkapple's invaluable advice. (I HIGHLY recommend using the high altitude + snow installation of Gobias' Alpine terrain mod found over at sc4d, or Lowkee's most excellent terrain mod, also at sc4d.) You must open and save each tile for it to display your terrain mod instead of the terraformer/mapper elevation color overlay. ------------- Description: The Dolomites are located in northeastern italy, and are an eastern part of the alps. This specific map is centered around the town of Selva, Italy. This map is 24km x 16km and made from satellite data. It has also been lowered to give a good snowline with Lowkee's terrain. A slight warning: the map data i used for this was patched together by someone else and i couldn't fix everything, so there are some slight errors with this map that you will probably notice. Oh well. Map made using satellite data, image editing software, and drunkapple's invaluable advice. (I HIGHLY recommend using the high altitude + snow installation of Lowkee's most excellent Appalachian Terrain Mod and shokthrpy's Brigantine 2.0 HD water and HD rock mods) For questions, comments, and requests please see my Map Thread over at simpeg.com Happy Gaming!
