This month we're hoping for a little bit of a boost this month or next, in addition to covering the regular bills, we could benefit from some hardware upgrades.
STEX Collector's Set gifts can now be sent to you via digital download as well as regular mail if you wish!
Every donation dollar goes toward keeping Simtropolis online and humming along. Your contribution counts!
As our website community software improves with more and more features, and as we bolt on additional features such as chat, the increased load to handle all these new toys is taking the server a bit to task.
You may have noticed that we'd been forced to temporarily disable the chat as we worked out allocating resources for more optimal performance. Following this, we've applied a number of 'soft' changes such as caching options and experimented with server configurations (nginx as proxy, for example), so the hardware aspect is also an area we'd like to focus on.
The last time we upgraded hardware was back in 2012, prior to the release of SC13.
Your contribution means a lot!
Your donation will go toward helping us to 1.) migrate to a newer server or 2.) at least get some ram/cpu/storage updates and any other infrastructure hardware or services.
Donate and Get a Gift or Donate Any Amount
Thanks so much!

So, how awesome would it be if we were able to control exactly which buildings will grow in our cities? Contrarily to popular belief, this is entirely possible (at least to some degree and if you are a resourceful modder).
Want to switch the side of the road your sims drive upon? Did you know both SC4 and NAM support both RHD and LHD setups? Here I discuss not only how to make this change, but in the case of LHD users (UK, Jap, Aus etc), how to optimise the game for LHD play.
My hand has been kinda screwed lately, mostly from uv mapping I think, which makes me even lazier.
Continued Tamurakoma Office:
I also made this short grass prop(prop so it's conforming), doesn't look good from a distance, like random noise or lines, but looks better from these angles, gonna release it on sunday.
You have to place a ton of them to make it look good, so I'm gonna have a building version which will have 64 grass props, each is 100 tris.
It's still oversized from a realism standpoint, but it's hard to hide the polygon lines at only 100 tris and when it's so short.
Also we have the c:s creators discord for quite a while now, some well known people are already there, I also have my own stream voice channel there.

In other news - the doel nuclear power plant workshop item got so much traffic, google.se thinks it's the real one:
I'm back - at least for a moment - with some garbage! 3 piles of garbage and a garbage decal just popped up on the workshop. The piles were super easy to make, the garbage texture not so much. It might surprise you all to know, but apparently not a lot of people go around and take good pictures of landfills. Who knew!
This was partly a test to see if I could make piles of garbage blend into the terrain without making the grass part of the building and I'm happy with the results. So that means there's a landfill on the way from me and these piles can be used to visually expand it.
