This month we're hoping for a little bit of a boost this month or next, in addition to covering the regular bills, we could benefit from some hardware upgrades.
STEX Collector's Set gifts can now be sent to you via digital download as well as regular mail if you wish!
Every donation dollar goes toward keeping Simtropolis online and humming along. Your contribution counts!
As our website community software improves with more and more features, and as we bolt on additional features such as chat, the increased load to handle all these new toys is taking the server a bit to task.
You may have noticed that we'd been forced to temporarily disable the chat as we worked out allocating resources for more optimal performance. Following this, we've applied a number of 'soft' changes such as caching options and experimented with server configurations (nginx as proxy, for example), so the hardware aspect is also an area we'd like to focus on.
The last time we upgraded hardware was back in 2012, prior to the release of SC13.
Your contribution means a lot!
Your donation will go toward helping us to 1.) migrate to a newer server or 2.) at least get some ram/cpu/storage updates and any other infrastructure hardware or services.
Donate and Get a Gift or Donate Any Amount
Thanks so much!

So, how awesome would it be if we were able to control exactly which buildings will grow in our cities? Contrarily to popular belief, this is entirely possible (at least to some degree and if you are a resourceful modder).
Want to switch the side of the road your sims drive upon? Did you know both SC4 and NAM support both RHD and LHD setups? Here I discuss not only how to make this change, but in the case of LHD users (UK, Jap, Aus etc), how to optimise the game for LHD play.
I'm pretty sure the RICO settings only applied to the main building, not the sub-building. I haven't looked into setting up RICO for a sub-building but this guide might cover it, I'm not sure if it's outdated and only relevant to the SBE mod and not the vanilla sub-building implementation available now... http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=615114749
Now that's a good idea for BSC and other groups. If they were to create their own 'plugin pack', that could eliminate a lot of the hurdles a community-made 'starter pack' would have.
It could consist of one large download offering a selection of buildings to install or several smaller downloads containing similar building styles.
Was getting ready to publish this mod then my 11 year old son beta tests it for me and notices that in some of the info screens but not others the sub building displays no information where as the main building does. Both building are both the same but mirror images taken from the same template.. The building other wise seems to function normally with cims coming an going as they should for a residence to both parts. Is this something to worry about or can it be easily fixed? Any help gratefully received from any one with experience using sub buildings.
