Update 8 will be 1+ GB

    Dirktator

Update 8.0 will be available to download later this week but we wanted to notify you that this is a larger than usual download. The download of Update 8.0 is approximately 1GB for existing players or approximately 1.3GB for new players who have not previously installed the game before as it contains files that will give all players of SimCity the capability to add SimCity Cities of Tomorrow to the base game as well as core game improvements and features as well as four new regions. As with all online games, even if players choose not to add an expansion pack, they still need to have the most up to date version of the software to ensure that they can play alongside others who have chosen to add the expansion pack. This means that all players can still play in the favorite cities and regions no matter which version of the game they are playing.

Update 8.0 contains multiple big improvements and additional features as well as a number of items which are free to all players including four new regions and Roman Casino which you can read about below.

Just curious, not trying to be rude or anything but who has caps these days?  I didn't know companies did that on high-speed internet any longer (cell phone data plans, sure, but home internet?)

Bazkur, the Brasilian's internet service is worst than the Haiti's internet service. We pay almost 60$ (R$120,00) to receive 20% of 5Mb or 10Mb and almost always the connection shuts down (We pay the equivalent for cheetah speed simulation and we receive turtle speed simulation of Simcity 4). huehue :(

Countries that aren't developed. We have a 7GB daily data cap on our 3MBps plan. After that, the speed is throttled down until 12am of the next day.

Here in Canada, most companies have caps.  In my case, there isn't any highspeed available because I'm on a country road (yet only 20 minutes from Montreal) so I have to use a cell phone to get some "hi-speed"...  So I've got a 20gb plan for 90$/month...
